FNU Foundation Partners with Walesi to Promote 2025 Alumni Fundraising Ball

The Fiji National University (FNU) Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Walesi to support the promotion of the upcoming 2025 Alumni Fundraising Ball.

The event will take place on 26 September 2025 at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, with the aim of raising awareness and much-needed funds for student-focused initiatives.

As part of the agreement, Walesi will provide complimentary airtime across its Outdoor LED Digital Billboard located in key areas around Fiji, helping to increase the event’s visibility and public engagement.

In recognition of this contribution, Walesi will be acknowledged as a Gold In-Kind Media Partner. Its branding will be featured on all promotional materials, digital content, and will receive verbal recognition during the event.

FNU Executive Director – Foundation, Alumni and Impact Assessment, Ms Karen Lobendahn, said the partnership highlights the importance of working together to enhance educational opportunities.

“The Alumni Ball is not just a celebration of our former students, it’s a platform to invest in the future of education at FNU,” Ms Lobendahn said.

Walesi Manager Marketing and Customer Experience, Ms Praneeta Devi, said the organisation is proud to support a cause that aligns with its values.

“Walesi is happy to come on board and support the FNU Foundation’s Student Support and Scholarship Initiatives, as we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to education and a better career” she said. And I urge all the Alumni to attend the 2025 Alumni Fundraising Ball.

Importantly, all proceeds from the Alumni Ball will go directly towards the FNU Foundation’s Student Support and Scholarship Initiatives, with support to commence from Semester 1, 2026. These funds will help ensure more students have access to quality education and essential academic resources at FNU.

The FNU Alumni Fundraising Ball is a flagship event that brings together alumni, corporate partners, and the broader community in support of student success.
