The audacity of our leaders is staggering.

To tell the media how to report the truth about Fiji’s HIV crisis, drug abuse, and social realities — that’s not leadership, that’s narrative control. When politicians start dictating what angle the press should take, it stops being news and starts being propaganda.

So no, Mr. Gavoka, the media will not rewrite the facts to fit your carefully curated political lens. We don’t exist to make your government look good — we exist to hold you accountable.

As long as our stories are rooted in data, field reports, and the lived realities of Fijians, we will report them — unfiltered, unedited, and unafraid.

The public deserves the truth, not the version of it that comforts those in power.
