📊Our new Pacific Economic Update shows growth is slowing across the Pacific – from 5.5% in 2023 to just 2.6% next year.

In the Federated States of Micronesia, growth accelerated to 1.2% in 2025 from 1% in 2024 while inflation is expected to ease in 2025 at 5% compared to 5.4% inflation in 2024.

But there is a major opportunity in the Pacific for resilience and recovery: increasing women’s participation in the workforce.
Closing gender gaps in employment could boost long-run GDP per capita by more than 20% across the region. Learn more: http://wrld.bg/kZug50WbkXM

📉 Pacific growth is slowing — but there’s a powerful untapped opportunity to turn the tide.

The new Pacific Economic Update, launched today in Honiara, shows growth falling to 2.6% in 2025, down from 5.5% in 2023. Rising uncertainty, fading post-COVID gains, and import reliance are leaving economies exposed.

But there's hope: getting more women into the workforce could lift long-run GDP per capita by over 20% across the Pacific.
