Norway will be the first country to receive the Chevrolet Bolt equivalent European twin-brother, the Opel Ampera-e. Sales of the car have already started, with prices starting at NOK 299.000,- or some $34.600. Now that is somewhat pricier than the other competitors to the Ampera-e in Norway; namely the Nissan Leaf, BMW i3 and Renault Zoe, but it does also offer a big difference in range and features. GM spokeswoman Michelle Malcho told the Wall Street Journal this past thursday, that GM is planning production of some 20.000 to 30.000 Bolts. That's is 1/10th to 1/20th the amount that Tesla is aiming for their 2018 deliveries, raing serious questions as to how serious GM is with their new EV platform. Instead of using this clear advantage of their competitors, including Tesla, by releasing a BEV of 200+ miles range later this year, these news seem to suggest that the lead of 12 months over Teslas launch of the Model 3 at $35.00,-, is nothing but marketing buzz, without any actual mass-production of the vehicle.
