In this first album, steeped in lo-fi blues with Afro influences, Soma Camara pours out his very Soul.Throughout those 8 songs sung in Soninké (his mother's tongue), he uses a few simple yet profound words to trace his life in Seine-Saint-Denis (A poor and rough suburb of Paris), blending personal history and social realism with the Soninke culture that forms an important part of his identity.
This debut LP is a hybrid album rooted in blues, hip hop, and Soninké
music. Ludovic Bors' (aka Funk Crime) productions take a lo-fi approach in which minimalism does not hinder the direct expression of emotions, and in which sound experimentation and haunting loops are the vehicle for the Soul.
The 8 tracks of this album are entirely recorded and mixed in an analog way at Studio CXVIII, Q-Sounds Headquarter.
