What a cover !
The guitarist and singer also turns up the heat musically, unleashing one funk firework after another, alongside organist and keyboardist Charles Covington (those who are keen may know him from George Benson’s 1968 number-one album, « Shape Of Things To Come »), Hugh Walker (who had also played for soul jazz masters like John Patton and Grant Green), and percussionist Judd Watkins.
