Guess who are the 2 new comers at Silver Steel Studio? 🤔
1. The first is an 1176 style FET compressor but with API colour.
2. The second is a classic Optical compressor known for his character and his « Dark Mode ».

The new Console 1 is now fully integrated into the ProControl desk inside a custom made frame 😍

This is by far the best combination of controllers to mix in a fast, intuitive and fun way:
- ProControl and its Fader packs: to control the balance, panning, sends, transport and automation, but also for controlling the analog processing via the outboard gear.
- Console 1: to control all the digital processing via the plugins.
- TC Electronic Icon series: to control the Delays, Reverb and other FX.
- Stream Deck: for all the macros an shortcuts.

They cover everything needed for a mixing session!
My workflow was never as perfect and intuitive as now 🤩

Big workflow enhancement at Silver Steel Studio 🤩
This new Console 1 MK3 is well thought, well developed and well built. It gots all that you need!
Now I can mix a whole song using only this controller and my hardware gear. Totally mouse-free, way faster, more intuitively and with much more fun!

I will post a series of YouTube videos mixing songs from start to finish, in POV mode, within few minutes, using almost only the new Console 1 MK3 and my hardware gears. Stay tuned 😉

Another classic piece of gear just joined the team at Silver Steel Studio: the famous FATSO by Empirical Labs 🔥
First test today and I’m already in love with it! It adds a lot of analog warmth and instantly makes the mixes sound more expensive with little effort😍

After trying a passive summing mixer, then upgrading to a transparent one, then upgrading again to a colored one with one output transformer, then another one with different pairs of output transformers for different colors, now I finally got a new deal on a summing mixer from Black Lion Audio with input transformers on EACH channel and output transformer! And I’m blown away, the difference is huge 🤩 Transformers on each channel is the real grail!

The mix sounds suddenly more punchy, more focused, wider and almost EQed while I didn’t apply any EQ yet.

This beautiful new gem will be used as my Drums summing mixer for a huge and powerful drums sound with a lot of character 👊🏻

A preview from the new EP by Primordial Black mixed & mastered at Silver Steel Studio last month.

It’s has a dark and powerful sound characteristic to the Black Metal/Death Metal ranging from Celtic Frost/Tryptikon, Ulcerate, and Neurosis to the likes of Shining, early Sepultura, and Mgla.

This is one of the 3 new pieces of gear at Silver Steel Studio. It’s a Vari-Mu type hardware compressor 😀

It’s the Weight Tank by Locomotive Audio, and it’s simply fantastic!
It has three transformers and 2 tubes which adds a really pleasant and thick coloration and a lot of depth and texture. Plus it can compress a huge amount of Db up to 30db with ease and without artefacts.

You pass your bass guitar track or your vocal takes through it and you hear its magic. Everything sounds more mix ready, more expensive and more polished through this beast.

Now I can finally say that I have all the different types of hardware compressors 😎
