The short film series « Parenting: Disaster Style » produced by chronicles climbers Zoe Hart and her husband, Maxime Turgeon, as they share wild nature and sport with their sons. Just like disaster-style alpinism, there’s high consequences with an unconventional approach but if you throw everything at it, you’re in for the adventure of a lifetime.

words on the film « Painting the mountains » :

« To me, the discipline of steep skiing is quite obscure. These slow and tedious turns above a maximum exposure seem illusory. I had to shift my perspective to see in the practices of , , and a beauty that transcends the risk-taking. Their approach deserved to be observed differently, as something in the desire, passion, and gaze of these skiers made them perhaps artists, or ‘painters of the mountain.’

, the photographer, also brings something artistic with his work around El Chaltén. His desire to document the birth of a practice in a place, year after year, is obsessive.  He sensed something that nobody had seen, and he decided to dedicate his life to this calling.

This artistic gaze shared between skiers and a photographer/journalist quickly became the foundation of the film, its ‘color,’ which set the tone and would need to be maintained throughout the story.

It is only every 2 or 3 years that we release a feature film aimed at festivals and cinemas. It is a long process, often in the shadows and filled with doubt. All this work finally makes sense for us once shared with the audience when the entire team relives those moments that were first shared in a small committee, now with full houses.

This film is one we are collectively and unanimously very proud of. It takes a whole team to make a movie: the breathtaking images by , the sharp and precise editing by Hugo Clouzeau ( ), and the enchanting and impactful music by provide multiple perspectives synthesized into a single object at each stage. Together, we painted the mountains.

The practice of skiing is still abstract to me, but at least in this film, I hope it is beautiful.

You can find the movie in all the best festivals this fall, and starting tonight at the gigantic tour of .

We will be there on many stage to present this special one. ☝️

Whympr challenged us to create a film campaign for their game changing mountain app, associating script writing, outdoor cinematography & post production. We teamed up with .tv for the animations and Mix & Mouse for the sound design. Everything went as smooth as possible, such a nice project.

« The High Life » is our last film project produced by .
The idea of this film was to be around Sarah, the « La Charpoua » hut keeper, for the last summer before this refuge would be rebuilt. The Charpoua hut is 118 years old, and has seen a tremendous amount of alpinists in it’s bed.
Since 8 years our friend Sarah is running it her own way, honestly, and is more the subject of the film. Up there she lives with her two kids for 3 months every summer-living a life of her own choosing.
In her laboratory she brakes the codes and creates a more human valued way of living in the mountains. "La Charpoua" is a refuge both for sleeping and for humans looking to balance the fast pace of todays world. Documenting this alternative life and historical structure felt important before it was changed.
The place will be rebuild, and the people making the place will stay the same, but the planks of woods will be gone.

For Pierre the director it was the perfect project, human size, reconnecting with an old friend, and spending loads of time in the mountains. Slowing down. Filming a few. Being drived only by what's happening. Living the place.
It’s have been a beautiful adventure.
