I just released a free "best of" of one of my projects including remix from friends and I added a link for a free kitchen for the displaced people in lebanon and dedicated this to the people who struggle against war, against the weapon dealers and you know what ? Youtube closed straight my channel where there was the video playlist ! I think everyone should measure how everything is manipulated against anyone who refuse to let Israel government kill without resistance.

(Version française en dessous)

This music comes from the land of chaos; intuition and emotions interplay has led it to this singular form. It is not consensual, it is demanding, it asks the listener to step out of their comfort zone. But like slow burners, in the end, it brings a reward that is worth it. The first part is what I call "mantrawave". The improvisations have been preserved as much as possible, maintaining their hypnotic character; to put it simply, these are the long version tracks of the album. The second part is what I call an "upgrade", they have been developed to reach a new form, the musical aspect is emphasized; to put it simply, this is closer to an instrumental version. The last part is the "elemental edit", where only the essential is kept.

It's no coincidence if this recalls the distillation of alchemy. This complete version of the album is released almost two years after the elemental edit because something surprising happened during this collective cooperation. While I was looking forward to discovering the meeting of the two sonic lineages that have taught me the most in recent years, (besides the music with Studio 112 obviously, because its case is particular, being neighbors, we evolve together), we realized that Pete's voice did not work with Gabriel's music. Their approach to music was different, somewhat like two distinct elements :
- What happens if you bring fire and water together ?
You can't simply mix them, but we didn't give up; instead of choosing one or the other, as minds operating on exclusion would do, we chose to keep both and develop them, so we could study this amalgamation.

I don't know what the future holds for our collaborations, but their past can provide some better understanding.

With Studio 112, the list would be too long, aside of Invisible Illusion, he is involved in PIRATE Tapes / Multiple Personality 3 /EVA Vertigo / TKno BeurK / rADio eNd / RefugEEs From Beyond...

With Gabriel Pereira Spurr under A Symbiotic Experience project :
Oneiric Sound / Open Source / Gesamtkuntswerk / Near Death Experience / Rebirth / Renaskigo https://archive.org/search?query=creator%3A%22A+Symbiotic+Experience%22
Also under our own names Dawn of the Damned https://archive.org/details/Dawn_of_the_Damned_Gabriel_Pereira_Spurr_Yoshiwaku
The album the closest to this one is probably Faust by PIRATE Tapes, where he participated with Studio 112. https://archive.org/details/PIRATE_Tapes_Faust_tape Also as good example to show how everything is linked, the instrumental of "We Don't Fit Anymore" comes from Original Subversion, an unborn album of A Symbiotic Experience.

With Peter Hope & Studio 112 under rADio eNd project :
OddSchool / Underground Culture / Hum Antenna https://archive.org/search?query=creator%3A%22rADio+eNd%22
There is another album without Studio 112 here https://peter-hopes-explodingmind.bandcamp.com/album/purple-circle-the-french-dissection

The closest album to Weathering The Rocks is probably Hum Antenna, where the blues aspect is more pronounced in this one, in Hum Antenna, it is the psychedelia. So you may understand that regardless of the mask, only the musical flavor matters. This album is released under Invisible Illusion but could have been released just as well under the rADio eNd project if it weren't so important to shed our skins to change and avoid turning into self-caricatures, slaves of our public image.

Among the roots, I should also mention The World Is Over! PIKADON & Necktar because these are the steps that led to the birth of this album.

I also invite you to read the words of Pete in the full presentation of the Elemental Edit :
"Tapping into the elements; rock, wind, fire & water... the very earth, the source of life & asking questions:
- Who's making the decisions and the bad choices that damage & deplete, cause conflict, suffering & destruction?
How much have we given up or simply lost through our disconnection from the natural world, and how can it be retrieved?
Will self-importance be allowed to win the day and therefore define the terms of humanity's decline?

Bring back the clatter & the drone, the mechanical clank, the smelting & shaping, the holler that sings out the rhythms of purposeful labor & truthful art. Bring us back our senses; the cold air, the hot sun, the rain, the storm & the sheltering from it. Let us breathe life again"

What else can I say? The lizard on the cover died in our water collector. It has placed this album under the sign of climate and social urgency. The two are linked, and there are many solutions, only malicious forces prevent their implementation on a large scale. So, I take my own actions on my scale. Since the time of this recording, I have bought solar panels, and I have never listened to so little music in my life; now I use headphones, only using my audio system with solar batteries. In my sink, I collect water in a basin to water the flowers and vegetables. We are flexitarians and degrowers since many years. When we go on vacation, we take the bus. We should have changed all our habits years ago. But better late than never. Even if it will never be enough compared to the harm caused by industries and the ultra wealthy.

This album could have been dedicated to the waves of climate change migrants who fall victim to the selfishness of colonial countries, but that is already more or less the dedication of "Refugees Welcome". So, it is dedicated to our Mother Earth. It must be terrible that her own children render her uninhabitable. Although it's only the most egocentric fringe of humanity, it's up to the rest to take action. As we can see in 'How to Blow Up a Pipeline,' corporations and politicians are criminals responsible for the deaths of an indecent number of people and must be stopped by any means necessary.

« Cosmic Ambient Music for Human Music Lovers »

It seems that this year there will only be one release per quarter on the netlabel. Listening to this album, you might think it's due to a desire to achieve a certain level of refinement. This is a misconception; we did not seek to direct it towards any particular form, but rather explored its essence as the tracks developed around the title track. We did our best to listen to what was being created. Listening is a balance between flexibility and stability. Of course, our common taste for subtlety, which goes hand in hand with a certain sensitivity, has left its mark, but the intensity inherent in passion has also found its way. If its final form is more a result of its essence, it is necessary to understand that reality is more subtle, as is often the case when questioning the predominance of a projective mode over a perceptual mode or vice versa; the answer often lies in their interaction. That is why, even though it resembles the genre of ambient or dark ambient music, it is much more than that. Regardless of the quality of what is defined, it will always be only a tiny part of the undefined. Instrumental music has a universal reach because it welcomes the dreams of everyone. It resonates with our emotions without them being imprisoned by the staging of song lyrics.

Just as a sharp mind can uncover the unsaid in a sentence, a trained ear can perceive what lies beyond the surface of music.

We can play with the link between the visual and the audio to better understand the meaning of this music. Moreover, the visual of Awakening Ritual, by moving away from the ritual to focus on perception, refers to the incessant flow that pulls the sleeper out of their torpor. And it also refers to the incessant flow that plunges the sleeper into their torpor. It is undoubtedly a quantum state that can only be resolved by stepping out from behind the screen.

This is the extension of my partial escape from social networks since January 2024. The enslavement to the continuous flow of the news feed seems to me to be a perfect example of mystification. At most, some people fish for clickbait traps that they will share again. The content is terribly secondary behind the engagement rate. The 'like' has the merit of giving importance to both the giver and the receiver.

It wouldn't bother me if it only concerned culture, but amidst it are delivered the very real horrors of our world, including massacres and catastrophes, all the news that serves no purpose other than as a pretext for the opinion wars in which players are summoned to participate.

But to ask for didactics, for these data to make sense, instead of serving to keep internet users captive and to brainwash them day after day, seems to be asking too much. It is very reminiscent of creation in large cities when cultural offerings are so abundant that we cannot even attend all the events of the week, and they are forgotten the following week. How can one create under these conditions without participating in cultural hyper-consumerism?

Why leave the comfort of routine to take the time to think for oneself and make one's own choices?

Why cut off the flow of the netlabel, when on Bandcamp profiles the sessions are accumulating?

Because aware of the flood that awaits us with the arrival of Artificial Intelligence, to which sooner or later the listener will not be able to resist, like the series eater condemned to see several new ones appear every time one ends. The model of both art and entertainment will not be able to maintain its current form. It reminds me of the beginnings of shareware, when we could try out all the computer programs on the planet.

How to develop cultural intelligence? Just as with food, we try to avoid certain addictions like sugar and fat, we try to find a diversified and balanced diet, it is up to those who cultivate themselves to find out how to do it. I believe there is a name for those who do this: aesthetes. Only it would be necessary to abandon the pejorative sense of the word to return to its root aisthêtês, the one who feels. And perhaps replace the dogmatic beauty often associated with this word with something more open that encompasses everything that evokes emotions within us, why not the marvel ?

It is not new, since entertainment has supplanted culture; we are immersed in 'junk food'. Excessive quantity, negligible quality, overemphasis on packaging and triumphant marketing. On one side. And on the other side, unprecedented access to all 'craftsmanship' on Bandcamp has absorbed much of the free music and independent music and offers a great diversity, often of quality.

Yet one must not misunderstand; when I speak of quality, it has nothing to do with technicality, aesthetics, or any kind of ranking like a top 50 of economic value or a top of artistic value by a music critic. But once again, returning to the analogy of food, what nourishes is authentic music that stems from life experience, not the artificial one grown in the hydroponic greenhouses of the entertainment industry.

It is therefore an invitation to a common reflection to discover how music can still exist in this frenetic society of perpetual saturation.

What place remains for singular music, which does not seek to appear and prefers to be imperfect, demanding to the point of often asking you to challenge your certainties?

Without financial value, society seeks to deny it. Yet it survives in the margins for those who try to live differently. It exists like no other, even in our own discographies. Authentic. Spontaneous. Anachronistic. Primitive. Unclassifiable. It is the meeting of three universes, the convergence of our universes with your universe. A cosmic experience towards the wonders of the intelligible world at the click of a button.

Dedicated to those who refuse to live in illusion.
