Daigo Daikoku – A Gift from Eternal Rose
🌹Voyage of the Rose in Three Movements
A contemporary art experience curated by Somexing for Lancôme.

At the end of August, Daigo Daikoku unveiled A Gift from Eternal Rose in Shenzhen
Paying tribute to the Absolue Rose, the installation immersed visitors in a world where light, silk, and sound intertwined. At the center, a suspended rose; around it, hand-dyed silk ribbons slowly turned to the rhythm of a gentle melody.

It was a fleeting moment where the boundaries between nature and humanity, time and stillness, dissolved. The artwork celebrated beauty shaped by the passage of time, inviting visitors into profound sensory contemplation.

Daigo Daikoku – A Gift from Eternal Rose
The Los Angeles–based art director, known for bridging art, lifestyle, and technology, unveils a bold and poetic creation inspired by Lancôme’s iconic Perpetual Rose.

In this installation, silk shimmers, light drifts, and sound flows in harmony, transforming space into a sensory experience. Visitors are invited to step into a world where time slows, boundaries dissolve, and beauty reveals itself in eternal motion.

A Gift from Eternal Rose is a tribute to timeless harmony between nature and humanity.

A contemporary art experience curated by Somexing for Lancôme.

Karolina Halatek presented Ascent - a spiral of luminous. This large-scale, site-specific light installation embodies a variety of archetypical and physical associations - from microscopic observations and electromagnetic wave dynamics to the atmospheric phenomena of a whirlwind and even a spiritual epiphany.

Fluxing between the natural and supernatural, Ascent offers a unique immersive experience that invites the viewers to transform their perception and become its centre point.

The light and the fog create a monumental dynamic space that opens up a new dimension and focuses attention on the viewer’s bodily sensations within the immersive environment.

Somexing curated and directed for Lancôme a unique immersive experience across China, where contemporary art meets innovation and the timeless beauty of Absolue.

Three international artists were invited to unveil large-scale installations, each offering a singular interpretation of Absolue’s essence.

🔸KAROLINA HALATEK introduced Ascent, a spiral of luminous mist that invites a moment of blissful elevation.

🔸CASEY CURRAN revealed Birth of an Icon, a swirling constellation of blooming roses in motion.

🔸DAIGO DAIKOKU unveiled A Gift from Eternal Rose, a poetic immersion of silk, sound, and light inspired by the perpetual vitality of the rose.

For this collaboration with Lancôme, Huda Al Nuaimi offers a design that captures the spirit of Ramadan. Her creation brings together meaningful symbols: the reinterpreted rose, both Lancôme’s emblem and the ‘flower of paradise’, embodies grace and feminine beauty; while crescent moons, arches, stars, butterflies, and lanterns reflect renewal, faith, transformation, and hope.

Maison Margiela Fragrances X Duoduo Huang I CNY25 & Valentine's Day Limited Edition

Inspired by archival photographs and her own memories, Duoduo Huang created "Chinese New Year Memory" a vivid artwork symbolizing the festive spirit of Lunar New Year. Red velvet, adorned with subtle imprints, evokes the warmth of traditional celebrations, blending cultural heritage with contemporary artistry.

For Valentine’s Day, Duoduo Huang unveils 'Vacuum Rose,' an artwork that embodies the concept of eternal love. Drawing inspiration from vacuum-packed roses, it reflects the spirit of eternal romance.

Maison Margiela Fragrances X Duoduo Huang I Artist’s Vision

In this collaboration, Duoduo Huang explores the imprint of memories on fabric, employing experimental techniques of engraving and printing on velvet. This material, both soft and dense, is deconstructed and meticulously altered to reveal hidden images, much like a palimpsest of memories - fading, resurfacing, and reshaping over time.
Duoduo Huang is a Chinese artist based in London who explores memory and intimacy through innovative installations that combine photography, textiles, and technology. A graduate of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China and the Royal College of Art in London, she has developed a unique artistic language where fabric becomes a medium for storytelling and emotional resonance.
