Starting to grind away the delaminated fiberglass on the forward cabin deck. Fortunately its not catastrophic but will still take time and effort.

It's 30c outside but cool in the lazerette ex aft cabin. Today is cleaning day before the electrics etc get sorted.

Anchor windlass control repair. The cable was uv damaged and flaking apart; replacement of the cable was the only real option (other than buying a new one) and keeping the original wiring in each end was also the simplest solution. It will be a backup to the replacement remote control when that is fitted later on.

Having sold Le Chateau d'Oz to Oz commune in autumn 2024 we are now living just outside Perpignan.
We will be skiing in Les Arcs in late January and Oz mid March and would love to meet up if you are in the area.
Summers we hope to get our sailing boat in the water by late Spring so we can do some sailing in the Mediterranean this summer.

Life's a grind when you're removing old gelcoat before re-glassing the joins on the repaired deck. It'll feel good once we can sure there are no more leaks.

Opening a small area of the foredeck to check its condition. Despite the moisture meter giving me readings that would lead anyone to believe it was a rotten swamp under the GRP it turned out to be bone dry and in excellent condition.
Moisture meters are tricky to use sometimes and their readings need to be interpreted as they react to other things part from just moisture. This discovery should save a lot of work in the future.

Starting the refitting by removing the plastic flooring added by a previous owner. It looked nice but blocked access to the bilges and hid the original flooring, which we preferred, even if it is showing its age.

Starting the long haul of refitting this boat to the condition we want her to be in. Yes, I am reading some instructions before I install a fitting with an impossible-to-remove marine adhesive/sealant.
