New SSTR06 Catartsis - Les matières errantes
Somewhere between memory sediment and subconscious drift, “Les matières errantes” marks the second solo expedition of the Sous Traitance timeline, this time led by Catarsis (aka Mathieu Bonnafous).
This new EP from the Parisian producer gathers four elusive productions, each one forged in a different temporal layer across a period of seven years. Oscillating between states, they reveal a raw urge to blur genre borders, where bass-heavy architectures bend into murky techno spirals, breakbeat fragments dissolve into dubstep low-frequency voids, and drum & bass pulses flirt with collapse. There’s no linear path here, only shifting zones and unstable rhythms, moving like tectonic plates beneath the surface of club logic.
A disjointed archive, a driftwork of forms—"Les matières errantes” doesn’t narrate a story so much as it exposes its own erosion. It’s a confrontation of industrial and natural environments for an unique, organic sound, making Catartsis a key figure in the renewal of the French Techno scene.
