Création en 1991, Mona Lisa:

Créée en 1991 par Thierry Berrod, Mona Lisa Production propose dès 1995 de nouvelles écritures dans le documentaire animalier, ajoutant ethnozoologie, approche scientifique et explorant des thèmes inédits tels que le monde microscopique. Cette originalité de forme et de contenu permet à Mona Lisa Production de remporter le prestigieux Prix de l'Innovation au Festival WILDSCREEN 2000 à Bristol - UK

avec la série " Les Envahisseurs Invisibles" et près de 200 autres distinctions dans les Festivals Internationaux. L'innovation, la créativité et l’exigence sont les mots clés de toute l'équipe de Mona Lisa. La volonté constante d'innover s’est notamment illustrée par le dépôt de brevets sur de nouvelles techniques de prises de vues en microscopie électronique. Aujourd'hui Mona Lisa Production poursuit son développement dans les domaines de l’enquête scientifique ou sociale, l’animalier, l'aventure ,la découverte et la Culture (série l’Art Scandale)…

Avec un catalogue de près de 200 heures, Mona Lisa se concentre sur des productions à budgets importants qui nécessitent des coopérations internationales. Les principaux partenaires incluent National Geographic Channel, Discovery Communications aux États-Unis et des radiodiffuseurs publics à travers l'Europe ( arte, France tv) et l'Asie ( NHK...). En 2021 Mona Lisa rejoint le groupe Wide Studios

Created in 1991 by Thierry Berrod, Mona Lisa is an internationally recognised production company specialising in Science, Wildlife & Environment, Discovery and Human Adventure. It has won nearly 200 awards at international festivals, including the prestigious Prize For Innovation at the UK’s Wildscreen 2000, for the film “Cannibal Mites”. It was also recently listed in Realscreen as being among the "Top 100 factual producers in the World". A success from the start, Mona Lisa quickly became famous for employing cutting-edge filming techniques. An unwavering commitment to research and development is a key part of the company’s ethos. For instance, it holds a patent on a state-of-the-art shooting technology which uses an Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope (ESEM) to reveal the ‘invisible world’ of microscopic organisms. Such advances led to a new kind of storytelling in Natural History, which soon sparked international interest. Increased investment enabled more ambitious projects and further innovations, notably the introduction of ethnozoology ,the study of the interrelationships between humans and animals into wildlife films. Today, Mona Lisa enjoys a reputation for quality and originality among documentary makers the world over. Recognising the importance of the international market in maximising financing and distribution, it has fostered strong relationships with some of the biggest names in film. Major partners include the National Geographic Channel, Discovery Communications in the USA and public broadcasters across Europe and Asia.
