It's been a week since In House We Trust, the 10th anniversary compilation from Pont Neuf Records , was released ✨️
The cute and ever-cheerful human next to me is Pru , boss of this brilliant label and the man behind the whole project. Thomas is also my friend, as well as my booking agent and manager, and I've been so delighted to work with him for two years now!
A few months ago he asked me to produce a track for the compilation, next to some seriously great names from the French electronic scene. I said yes without a second's hesitation, honoured and excited to be part of it.
Pont Neuf has always made room for artists who bring their own colour. Lately mine has been all about syncopated rhythms and rich harmonies, as you may have noticed on Who Says Night's For Sleeping?, my EP on the label: a cinematic tribute to 90s breakbeat and rave culture, done my way. Magnolia 303 takes that exploration further. A TB-303 acid line, emotional strings, a closing-time track that also closes the compilation. The name comes from both: Paul Thomas Anderson's 1999 film Magnolia, and the 303 singing through it.
