One month residency in beautiful Spraylab in Nancycity in November 2022.

👁️‍🗨️ We used this excerpt as a starting point. During our residency at Spraylab, we deconstructed the myth of the pioneer by subverting generative images representing women and machines, artists and monoliths. This reality turned fantasy is the result of a patrilineal conception of the history of women and - especially white women - in electronic music. A fetishistic and phantasmagorical representation that will become the raw material for our immersive sound and visual installation. Sound and videos has been created simultaneously, one deconstructing the other, and placed in an immersive small little world, creating a warm and stifling haven of peace, a misinterpretation of reality.
Through this project, our wish was to also to highlight the beautiful database SYRPHE that aim to promote FLINTA artists in electronic music, noise, avant-garde, contemporary classical, electro-acoustic, industrial, experimental, sound art specially from Africa and Asia, showing once again that genius and the so called ‘female pioneers’ are from all over and not only bu****it western countries.

We’ve been super lucky to close the installation a month after with the crazy live of 🌹💉

💦 𝓔𝓶𝓸𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵 𝓟𝓸𝓼𝓽 12 - PAPIER BOULETTES & EMILIEN SIMON & 2F4F | Atoma

Light and video installation created for the papier-mâché fresco by Papier Boulettes, as part of the Salpêtre exhibition at Atoma in February 2021.

This lighting installation is an invitation to explore caves: flashlights attached to motors allow us to discover the walls solely through beams of light. The play of light and jerky videos give the impression that the walls are moving; grazing lights bring out the volumes of the paper. The video projections merge with the medium, animating the shapes and blurring the reading of the fresco.Meanwhile, collective played sound pieces, for a total immersion in the bowels of a 2.0 cave.

It is with great emotion that we share this installation, created in close collaboration with our friend who left us too soon, Émilien Simon, aka . Émilien designed the Arduino for the motors; he was a great partner in our many geeky research projects, passionate about digital art, analog tinkering, and constantly eager to discover new devices.
