This illustration shows the T568A and T568B wiring standards used for Ethernet cables (RJ45 connectors). Both standards define the pinout order of the eight wires inside a twisted-pair cable, ensuring proper network connectivity. The main difference lies in the arrangement of the green and orange pairs: T568A places the green pair on pins 1 and 2, while T568B places the orange pair there. Functionally, both work the same for straight-through cables if both ends use the same standard, but T568B is more commonly used in the U.S. for network installations.

PROTECTIVE EARTHING (PE) vs FUNCTIONAL EARTHING (FE).

During my years in control panel design, I still see this common mistake in drawings!

🎯 The difference between them:

âś… Protective Earthing (PE):
• Green/Yellow wire 🟡🟢
• Carries fault current ⚡
• Triggers breakers to protect the system
• Main purpose: Save lives! ♥️

âś… Functional Earthing (FE):
• Usually a braided strap 🔗
• Removes high-frequency noise 📢
• Improves EMC stability (Electromagnetic Compatibility)
• Main purpose: Protect electronics! 📱💻
