JOIE ✨So proud to announce that our first feature film LOST LAND ( LES FLEURS DU MANGUIER) directed by Akio Fujimoto, will have its World Premiere at the 82nd La Biennale di Venezia✨
In the hope of reuniting with their scattered family, Shafi (4) and his sister Somira (9) leave a Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh on a perilous journey to reach Malaysia.
LOST LAND tells the story of exile, tracing one of the most perilous migration routes in the world. But it is also a story of emancipation, an odyssey of survival through a childlike gaze. Through this film, Akio beautifully captures silences and the invisible thread that ties people together, making space for what is rarely seen and for voices we never hear.
Written, directed and edited by Akio Fujimoto
Guided by the magistral images of Yoshio Kitagawa
