When the new moon of Ramadan was sighted, the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to recite this dua

‎اللَّهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْأَمْنِ وَالْإِيْمَانِ وَالسَّلَامَةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ وَالتَّوْفِيقِ لِمَا
تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضَى رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ

(Allahhumma ahillahu ‘alaina bi’l amni wal imani, was salamati wal islami, wat tawfiqi lima tuhibbu wa tarda; Rabbi wa Rabbukallah)

"O Allah, cause this crescent to rise upon us with security, faith, peace and Islam. And grant us the ability to do that which You love and that which pleases You. (O Moon) Allah is my Lord and your Lord."

"Alhamdulillah, Allah has granted us another holy Ramadan. May Allah grant us the ability to spend the entire month in worship."
