Atacama was not easy. Landed at 2500m and the next day went up to 4500m, no time to adjust, so the headache and nausea came quite fast. My guide even said, “I like Kevin — even when he’s suffering, he’s smiling.” 🤣 I guess I just didn’t want to waste the chance since I was already there. Still really glad I went though, it’s a place that makes you realise how big the world actually is.

Would I still go up if I knew it would feel like this?👀

Can’t explain it. A bit European, a bit something else… but it just works. I ate way too much (no regrets), seafood was insane, and yes — I’m bringing my dulce de leche addiction back with me.

Met two Chilean friends here, one from Hong Kong, one from Cologne… somehow we all ended up in Santiago. World’s kinda small sometimes. Also, pisco sour? yeah… I’m in trouble.

What’s a city that felt strangely familiar to us? 👀

New York, not much to say. It just doesn’t stop, too many temptations, too many chances, and yeah, a lot of pressure too. Winter is cold but it somehow makes everything feel sharper. This time I even ordered in Cantonese, didn’t expect that but it felt right. Randomly ran into a friend from SF, super quick but still special.

And to my friends in New York, thanks for showing up even with my last-minute text. Walked from the west side through Central Park up to the Upper East Side, every corner felt different, like the city keeps shifting. Made me realize it’s not really one city, just layers of possibilities stacked together.

Short journey, but yeah… BRB

Barcelona, round 2️⃣.

I can actually imagine living here.
This city feels more advanced and more organized than I expected—honestly, more so than many other European cities.
Some places… you really have to experience them yourself before forming an opinion.
Is France really that romantic?
Is Germany really that efficient?
Are the Nordic countries truly that happy?

This trip confirmed something else for me—
taking a break around 4 or 5 in the afternoon is a wise decision.

The old me would rush through seven spots in a row, nonstop.
Then still go to the gym at night, learn a K-pop cover alone in my hotel room, just to feel exhausted enough to sleep quietly.

I was a big kind of crazy.
Now I’m a smaller kind of crazy.
I can still do seven spots in a day—
but I’ve learned to sit down, to observe, to feel.

A small side note:
I went to a Sombr concert.
This is very subjective, but I really enjoyed that night.
He sings about youth—about that emo, teenage kind of feeling.
And the crowd, full of young girls, radiated this raw energy of dreams just beginning.

I couldn’t help but think—
you’ve grown a lot over the years.
But Kevin,
hold on to that tender heart.
Because once you choose to let it go,
it’s very hard to find your way back.
