🎂 Celebrating the 40th birthday of « 3 hommes et un couffin » (« 3 Men and a Baby »), by Coline Serreau, one of the most iconic French comedies of the 80s, released in France on September 18th, 1985!
👨🏻 Pierre, 👨🏻🦱 Michel and 👨Jacques, three single men who share a large Parisian apartement, are stunned to find themselves « nannies » to a baby left in a cradle on their doorstep. The adventure becomes even more complicated when a second packet is delivered, way more annoying. These open and carefree men become suspects hunted by the police and... attentive and worried fathers! 👼🍼
🏆This delicious comedy became a phenomenon in France upon its release, gathering 10,2 million spectators in theathers (currently ranking as the 31st highest-grossing film in France), won 3 César Awards in 1986 among which the high-coveted César Awards for Best Film and Best Director, got nominated in the Best International Films category at the 1986 Oscars, got world released to an overwhelming success, spawned an American remake (« Three Men and a Baby »... and its follow-up « Three Men and a Little Lady »), an Indian remake and a French follow-up, « Eighteen Years Later ». 👏🎟
👩🏻 The film also revealed a then unknown young actress, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu – who subsequently won the Cesar Award for Best Female newcomer–, hailed today as one of the most famous French actresses worldwide since her recurring roles in « Call My Agent » and « Emily in Paris ».
An incredible legacy that we’re celebrating today, as the film just got re-released in French theaters, with this series of posters from all around the world. 🌎
