“Jubbanti Koom” Plan: A New Economic Direction for Senegal

Under the presidency of Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko presented the “Jubbanti Koom” Economic and Social Recovery Plan, aimed at correcting economic imbalances and reviving inclusive growth.

The program plans to mobilize 5,000 billion CFA francs over four years without resorting to external debt, marking a sovereignist break with previous budgetary practices.

President Faye praised the plan, emphasizing its rigor, transparency, and its response to the expectations of both Senegalese and international partners. He recalled the external audit commissioned by the government, which revealed the extent of the challenges faced.

Among the first measures:
• Reactivation of the National Public Debt Committee
• Adoption of four anti-corruption laws passed this week
• Strengthening transparency and budget management

The Head of State insisted: "You have chosen rupture, we have chosen truth."

President Barrow Pays Tribute to Late Former President Muhammadu Buhari

His Excellency President Adama Barrow, on Friday, arrived in Nigeria to present his condolences to the family of late former President Muhammadu Buhari at his home village of Daura, Katsina State

Upon arrival President Adama Barrow received a guard of honour at the Umaru Yaradua Airport in Katsina. Secretary to Katsina State Government Barrister Abdoulie Garba Faskari received President Barrow at the Buhari family home in Daura, alongside former First Lady, H.E. Madam Aisha Buhari and her family.

President Barrow in paying respect, sympathised with the bereaved family and described the late Buhari as "colleague, brother and friend who fought for democracy in Africa and The Gambia." The President added late President Buhari defended the decision of the Gambian people and vividly recalled his remarks at a closed door meeting. "If Jammeh wants to challenge the sub-region, he is welcome. I think he has friends here, let them talk to him." Thus demonstrated his strong stand to uphold the decision of Gambians and since then was supportive to President Barrow and the government.
