I asked three musicians & producers to remix my music. They chose a song each and had complete creative freedom. Today it’s time for the remix of ”Somehow” from my album Queen on the Hillside.

”It’s an honour to remix one of Jeanette Lindström’s tracks, and I chose Somehow for its purity and sense of hope. I wanted to focus on the emotional core of the song, so I stripped away the instrumentation to reveal Jeanette’s beautiful, heartfelt vocals and piano. Jeanette and I had discussed adding my vocals, so I recorded new parts that felt supportive and complimentary to her voice - lifting the song as if it were ascending. My rework is a re-imagining of Somehow with ambient, slightly experimental, and subtle psychedelic textures. It feels soft yet profound, embodying a transcendental quality inherent in Jeanette’s music, especially her beautiful voice.”

Karen Vogt is an Australian-born, France-based artist who moves seamlessly between the worlds of electronic, ambient, and experimental pop to create spacious, atmospheric music. She is best known for her ethereal, shimmering vocals as a founding member of the dream pop group Heligoland, formed in 1999 and produced by Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins. The group is still actively recording, but Vogt began to produce her solo body of work around 2020 by releasing mostly improvisations, as well as collaborations, and guest vocals.
