L’ouvrage ne raconte pas le Pays Basque, il le traverse, à pied, en van, parfois en mémoire. Les années folles reviennent par fragments, son ami Alain monte en montagne avec ses huîtres et son Rioja, les nuages jouent à qui sera le plus ronflant au-dessus du phare de Biarritz. Ce qui reste, au bout du chemin, ressemble à Herrimin — ce mot basque qui désigne la nostalgie d’un pays qui n’existe peut-être que pour
soi.
Des photographies et des textes courts qui cherchent, dans la lumière de l’Atlantique, dans les noms des villages et des montagnes, dans les visages croisés, quelque chose qui résiste à la définition — une liberté dont le mot basque, Askatasuna, dit mieux la texture que sa traduction. The idea for The 11 Collection emerged from the meeting of two practices that, while rooted in different fields, share a common belief: creation gains meaning when it reveals the people who build.
On one side, a venture firm accustomed to working closely with founders, where human relationships form the foundation of trust. On the other, an independent publishing house that has long supported emerging photographers by giving them space for genuine artistic freedom.
Both approaches are guided by the same attention to individual journeys, to the inner qualities that drive action and make progress possible. Through years of open conversations, this shared outlook naturally became a point of connection. From this convergence came the idea of a collection that brings forward the human forces behind entrepreneurship. took shape as an editorial project where photography and entrepreneurial experience interact, each illuminating the other. THE BOOK IS LEFT 4 COPIES and Eruption ( exposition at the at the moment ) is a pseudo-documentary project consisting of 40,000 hand-crafted red-winged bugs (known as soldier bugs in Ukraine and gendarmes in France), installed across three contexts — a room, the human body, and food. The insect invasion serves as an allegory for the Russian occupation of Ukrainian territories, reflecting the gradual takeover of safe spaces, the human body, and everyday life, revealing vulnerability, fear, and destruction. Said: Beneath the face as a surface for signs, we see the skin in its carnality and vulnerability. We see the spasms, the wrinkles, the wounds on her skin, the urgency of her hunger, her thirst her cold, her fever, her fear or her despair. We are immediately afflicted with these wounds, these wants, this suffering. In our hands extended to clasp her hands, touch turns to tact and tenderness. And is there not often joy in the face before us, even joy in suffering?
When another turns her eyes, she does not look in our eyes..... as we recall her look, loaded with possibilities she shapes, we paint them, we photograph them. Her eyes seek out first the vivacity and delight of the light in our eyes which summon her forth. The gaze of another that touches us lightly, this upsurge of force that affirms itself unrestrictedly as joy......joy at having known what is now lost, and joy in finding us.
