Its ruby robe, radiant as a flame of youth, catches the eye and holds it. To those who know how to approach, its fragrance opens like a bouquet of confessions: cherry mingles with blackberry, violet whispers its discreet grace, and darker echoes—graphite, flint—recall the depth of the limestone soil that feeds its roots.On the palate, it is a vivid, proud caress: the velvet of a silky texture, the freshness of a clear breath, and the firmness of a tannic structure, upright as a truth that cannot be denied. Its momentum is sustained, the finish unfurls like a well-measured phrase, leaving behind the echo of an almost saline flavor, limpid as a confidence murmured at dusk.

Linda Zhengova embodies this new generation of artist-authors, where subjectivity intertwines with the archive, giving rise to a powerful dialogue between the intimate and the collective. This project happened as a coincidence, and it was actually never my intention; it just emerged out of itself when I looked back at my archive and realized that I had photographed many Ukrainian traveling models in the past months. I started to wonder why. The connection between us was instant. I felt we were a perfect match because these women embodied this mesmerizing mixture of power and vulnerability, a kind of truth I’m always searching for in people.
Though they’re constantly on the move, our paths crossed. I used my camera to peer into their glowing, restless souls, pressing it up against the charged aesthetics of erotica, where their bodies stopped being forms and became portals.
Untamed, insistent, and untethered. In the book, I paired their portraits with landscapes from my homeland, as a form of a mutual meeting point, an understanding, or perhaps a departure.
Thank you, Diana, Kate, Ksenia, Olivia, and Yulia, for unleashing the fire within yourselves and making me feel your warmth. Your ability to transform so fast and to make everything from nothing reminded me how much creativity
there is in chaos.
This edition is limited to just 80 signed copies, each featuring a numbered Polaroid on the cover and hand-written texts by
me inside.

Les héros ont la vie courte by design by
1er juillet 2007, Fersen 6 ans et Eva 4 ans quittent Paris pour vivre à 900 km. La distance qui nous sépare désormais est à la hauteur du lien qui nous lie. Leur mère a toujours beaucoup voyagé, jusqu’ici cela renforçait la relation que j’entretenais avec mes enfants, mais cette fois son départ nous sépare.
Un projet a alors pris corps. Leur enfance s’entremêlent au souvenir de la mienne et cette séparation, à la mort accidentelle de mon père lorsque j’avais 10 ans.
Éclipsée la figure paternelle, je me suis contenté de petites choses et ai moins bien dormi la nuit. Quant à mes enfants, ils n’ont pas eu le temps de tuer le père, le héros a eu la vie trop courte.
J’ai photographié ce que je ne saurais exprimer autrement, des nœuds qui parfois étranglent ou enlacent… printedmatterinc
