We seek to liberate the beautiful photographs being made today by smartphones. Smartphones, led by the iPhone, has been a major disruption to the camera industry over the last years. Millions of people have forgone conventional cameras in favor of the camera in their phones, appreciating to just point and shoot, with results comparable to more expensive cameras. After having produced coffee table-worthy books of some of the best photographers documenting the world with their phones, Out of the Phone now wants to make it easy for everyone to preserve their work with a tangible book and become part of their book collection. In line with how the smartphone has changed our relationship to photography, OOTP wants to bring something really different in the making of customized photo books by offering a tailor-made approach and alternative solutions to the cumbersome books printed on heavy glossy paper. Furthermore, OOTP highlights the new mobile generation of photographers by showcasing the books created on its new platform. The stories thereby created become part of the first photo book collection, a way to break down the barriers limiting the access to publishing.
