They call it ‘The Tuscan Dream’. But when you finally arrive at Castelfalfi’s strategic hilltop perch, you’ll notice it’s not exactly the image of terracotta, exposed beams and faded frescoes you’d expect from a hotel with such a tagline.

Much of it is modern. Low-lit. Polished. The interior influence is unmistakably Asian – even beyond the RAKxa Wellness Spa. Something you might expect from an existing hotel brand transplanted westward. But no, this is a standalone property. So why doesn’t it all look Tuscan?

Most furniture showrooms ask you to do a fair bit of imagining. has spent the past few years doing away with that.

The Italian house has just opened a Sydney flagship in Surry Hills, its second Australian address after Melbourne. Creative director has arranged the collection inside a restored heritage building as a sequence of rooms – the kind of residential space your new furniture will actually live in. It’s like IKEA, sort of.

The Costa Smeralda has never had much difficulty attracting those who made their names elsewhere, and, this summer, that principle extends to restaurants.

African Queen, named after the Bogart and Hepburn film and first opened over half a century ago in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, has opened its first Italian address on the beach at Cala Di Volpe, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Costa Smeralda – grandma’s Niçoise salad and the truffle pizza carried over, same as ever.

Paper Moon’s journey to Sardinia took a few more stops along the way. Born on the mainland in ’77, the Milanese institution has expanded to the likes of London, Hong Kong, Istanbul and the Algarve – and, now, Porto Cervo at the Cervo Hotel, Costa Smeralda Resort.

Members’ clubs live or die on renewal rates, so the periodic refit is less a grand gesture than routine maintenance. At Paris, however, in the Pigalle townhouse where Jean Cocteau grew up, the latest round of refurbishments amounts to more than just a change of cushions.

The ground floor has been reconfigured, the glass-roofed courtyard is now a restaurant, both menus have been rewritten and the Health Club considerably upgraded. The most persuasive addition is arguably the Martini bar in The Cocteau – open daily from 5pm.

The latest chapter from celebrates a decade of its collaboration with the Dennis Hopper estate.

“A Decade of Hopper” revisits the actor, artist and photographer whose personal style was a true representation of the creative freedom in 20th century America.

The anniversary collection reintroduces the Taos and Pepper models alongside the debut of the Dreamer - each informed by eyewear Hopper actually wore or kept in his personal collection. The usual JMM touch is also present, handcrafted in Japan and produced in highly limited quantities, ready to be in hands of avid fans (or already sold out).

François-Henri Bennahmias ran as chief executive from 2013 to 2023, and in that time helped push the Royal Oak beyond the watch world and into music, sport and street culture. The Marvel concept pieces, the Royal Oak Offshore, the brown-ceramic Royal Oak he unveiled with as his final act – all of it made AP a name spoken well outside horology. Ask many young men (and women, for that matter) their dream watch and you’ll probably hear Royal Oak more than just about anything else. That’s the work of Bennahmias.

But now, he’s starting something from scratch. N3W5 – pronounced ‘news’, for north, east, west, south – is the first watch brand under his Honourable Merchants Group, due to launch at next year. Its pitch inverts the machine he built at AP: will have no name on the dial, opting instead to credit the enamellers, engravers and movement makers the industry usually keeps behind-the-scenes.

The man who sold the hype now says the point was never the hype at all.

I know I’m not the only one who finds myself rewatching vintage films of a bygone era in anticipation of upcoming summer holidays. Imagining myself with even an ounce of Alain Delon’s coolness is a good way to get excited about the slow schedule of al fresco dining, salt-stained espadrilles, and cicada soundscapes that lie ahead. This is no original experience, though. It is not special nor unique of me to fill this mental summer moodboard of mine with sun-soaked 60s Tropezian imagery. What is unique, however, is having those images bear close resemblance to the experience that actually awaits at the destination.

Never has this ritual been more prophetic than on a recent getaway to Villa Belrose (). Here, between the well-stocked pool bar and excellent service, it’s easy to slip into a rosé-fuelled, sun-bed-supported afternoon slumber, not checking the time, simply relying on the position of the sun above to remind you when it’s time to head back to the suite and get ready for dinner – the Saint-Tropez experience that I, and perhaps you, too, envision when a Riviera retreat is what’s called for.

The 2026 edition of marks 20 years of one of the most successful partnerships in sports history. In 2006, took over as the Official Outfitter of the iconic tournament, ushering in a fresh look that has, in its two decades, kept everyone from umpires to ball boys and girls looking cool, calm, and always collected – exactly what we’ve come to associate with the classiest fixture on the tennis calendar.

Year one, and the kit that started it all – navy where the old uniforms had been green. Ralph actually wanted the officials in all-white like the players, but Wimbledon thought it too distracting.

Ibiza is perhaps better known as a place to play or listen to music rather than make it, but – a hotel that typically caters to consumers of the music scene – is now looking after its creators, too, with a new recording studio built in collaboration with .

Built around a Studer console, the room is rather aesthetically arranged with analogue gear and vintage instruments, including 1960s Fenders and Marshall amps. It’s a proper setup for a destination frequented by many of the world’s top producers.
