A giant of Arab culture has left us.
Son of Fairuz, voice of a generation, and spirit of resistance — Ziad Rahbani redefined the sound and language of Lebanese music and theatre. With his wit, his jazz-infused compositions, his sharp political commentary, and his deep love for the people, he gave us works that spoke to both heartbreak and hope.
From Bennesbeh La Bokra Chou? to Abu Ali, he brought together intellect and groove, comedy and revolution. He made us laugh, cry, and think — sometimes all at once.
💔 Thank you for the music, the plays, the poetry of everyday life.
Rest in power, Ziad.

The past lives in the tone of our songs.”
