L'attrice italiana Marisa Pavan è morta questo mercoledi 6 dicembre all'età di 91 anni nella sua casa di Saint-Tropez. Nata il 19 Giugno 1932 a Cagliari, in Sardegna, Marisa Pavan è stata una figura femminista in lotta contro lo "studio-system" dominante degli studios hollywoodiani degli anni '50 e gli stereotipi americani sulle attrici straniere. Ha trascorso la giovinezza e l'adolescenza a Roma. Per sostenere la carriera della sorella Anna Maria Pierangeli, anche lei attrice, si trasferisce con la famiglia a Los Angeles. Mentre la gemella inizia a trionfare nel cinema, Marisa Paravan studia lingue e giornalismo. Tra il suo debutto nel 1952 e la fine della sua carriera cinematografica nel 1974, l'attrice aveva all'attivo una quindicina di film.

C'è stato un tempo, che non è mai tramontato, in cui le giovani attrici straniere che immigravano a Hollywood, per scelta o per obbligo, erano oggetto di attenzioni molto particolari da parte delle grandi case cinematografiche hollywoodiane dell'epoca, che non tardavano ad "appropriarsi" della loro cultura e delle loro differenze, a tutti gli effetti, per far decollare le loro carriere negli Stati Uniti. Se questo sistema non è di per sé inquietante, o addirittura positivo per un'industria come quella cinematografica, riflette però alcuni stereotipi e modi di agire impliciti che nel 1950 costituirono un problema per una giovane immigrata di origine sarda, che sarebbe poi diventata nota come Marisa Pavan.
