Dhalinyaro will be the opening film at the Africa in Motion (AiM) film festival !!!

Are you enjoying the International Day of the Girl Child’s events this weekend?

You will be happy to know that Africa in Motion 2020’s opening film Dhalinyaro (Youth), is a beautiful ode to girlhood! This heartfelt and sensitive female coming-of-age film is also the first feature to be directed by a female filmmaker from Djibouti.

Africa in Motion (AiM) film festival Thank you for putting women in focus, and particularly Lula Ali Ismail, director of Dhalinyaro!

We are delighted to introduce you to the Africa in Motion 2020 “Women in Focus” strand!

With the movement and issues of female under representation in film reverberating worldwide, we continue to support complex identities, drawing attention to the artistic expression of African and diaspora womxn image-makers.

This strand includes a range of sincere and delicate portraits of female strength and resilience. Expect unique views on youth, avarice, new futures, marriage, motherhood, sexuality and more.
