SPOON is a bi-annual ad-free, fine-Art and slow fashion photography magazine. Originally created in 1996 as one of the first fashion Internet publications

Started on the internet in 1996 when there was only 100 000 sites active, it was probably the first ever fashion site called “magazine”, and one of the first fashion photography site. SPOON on paper was released later same year, when a printer made us a pretty decent price proposal. It became very quickly a favorite media for photographers and artists who found there an open minded space to freely

express their creativity and visual language away from commercial pressure. We used to launch each magazine with free access party, and of course an all night open bar at Paris Fashion Week as for us : it had to be fun too! First issue was just 64 pages, small square format 17X17 cm and stappled, and big drama in the fashionistas’s world : with almost no text (what kind of punk can do this!)! For Vol 2 and later made it bigger format 26X26 cm and some issues reached 240 pages. We leaved the company in 2000 with Volume 7, and we wont comment here what happened after, but it stopped in 2001. Some folks later tried later to make an contemporary arts mag with the same logo and name, it lasted 2 or 3 issues. Then here it is : we are ready to start again this utopian project, and we will try to make it the same way and only way we know :

Zero Waste Draping Workshop by in collaboration with presented at Loughborough University and Liverpool John Moores University  - Oct 2025.

Pioneers in zero waste fashion design since the beggining of their brand ‘Cunnington & Sanderson’ in 2012, John and Matthew have refined their skills and knowledge into a 1 day masterclass which they have presented at various higher education institutes over the past 8 years, including:- The Glasgow School of Art, H.E.A.D - Geneve University of Art and Design, Liverpool John Moores University, Leeds Beckett University, Nottingham Trent University, University of Leeds, and Leeds Art University to name a few.

The Zero Waste Draping Workshop called ‘No Wasted Jam’, demonstrates innovative techniques that eliminate fabric waste while creating beautiful, sustainable garments. These masterclass showcases their commitment to sustainable fashion design and educating the next generation of designers.

The workshop aims to educate the students about the importance of sustainable fashion and to learn the craft and process of intuitive design with zero-waste draping.

Each drape is controlled and selectively positioned upon the body form, sensitively draped by hand with skilled craftsmanship.
The students are introduced to John & Matthew brand’s sustainable processes and guided with the brand’s refined draping exercises on the mannequin, before experimenting with creativity, recording the process and design development, pattern cutting by measuring and making their own unique paper pattern and concluding by constructing and sewing their own innovative and timeless zero-waste design.
