Georgie Mathew is returning to the Banijay Nordic family as CEO, Filmlance, effective January 2026.

Joining from Netflix Nordics, Georgie brings extensive scripted expertise and a deep understanding of the streamer market, having spent his career producing, commissioning and delivering acclaimed originals across Scandinavia. Previously, he held senior positions at YellowBird, part of Banijay Nordic.

Conker Pictures, part of , has secured the rights to Death’s A Bitch, the highly anticipated debut novel by Eloise Rodger - a bold coming-of-age story with a high-concept twist, tipped to be a major literary hit when it lands in January 2027.

Written by 22-year-old London-based author Eloise Rodger, the story follows Aggie as she navigates an impossible choice to protect her sister Marcie - a tale of love, sacrifice, and the lengths we’ll go to for family.

The novel will now be adapted for TV, with plans to bring it to both UK and international audiences.

ABC Australia has acquired the brand-new reimagining of Georges Simenon’s iconic detective - joining a wave of global broadcasters including Wowow (Japan), Sky Free (NZ), VRT (Belgium), HRT (Croatia), and SIA Tet (Latvia).

Produced by award-winning Playground, this is the first English-language contemporary TV adaptation of the beloved novels. Starring Benjamin Wainwright as Jules Maigret and Stefanie Martini as Madame Louise Maigret, the six-part drama premieres on MASTERPIECE Mystery! (PBS) this Sunday, 5th October.
