Two pieces of wood. One leather strap. Flat enough to disappear into any bag.

The Y002 travel hanger by Japanese design brand Y reduces the object to its absolute minimum: mahogany and ramin connected by a leather strap, folding completely flat for travel and unfolding into a fully functional hanger when needed. The material choice is almost perfect in its logic, warm, durable, and honest about what the object is. Nothing added, nothing missing.

A hanger worth packing precisely because it takes up no space to do so.

Concrete and glass, configured to sit gently on a tight corner lot in Gimpo.

Heesoo Kwak and IDMM Architects designed The Closest Church as a seven-story architectural puzzle. Instead of traditional spires, a delicate cross is carved directly into the exterior concrete facade, illuminating softly at night to respect the multi-faith neighborhood around it.

Facing the residential towers, fragmented concrete creates texture and privacy. Facing the park, clear glass walls open the interior to the street, drawing natural light deep into the main chapel's inclined, bleacher-style seating. An exterior zigzag staircase wraps the perimeter, leading to a public rooftop space built for outdoor gatherings.

This is architecture that bridges sacred space and everyday urban life.

answers that with this customizable modular bookshelf concept. Built with rotatable wooden modules, the system easily adjusts to match spatial needs, functional setups, and personal color preferences.

By utilizing specific shades from the Pantone Pastel Coated library, each piece transitions seamlessly between a structural shelf element and a purely decorative accent, allowing users to curate their own ever-evolving, colorful installation at their leisure.

The staircase is the only element that reveals everything: where you are, what surrounds you, how the light moves through the building.

BERK is Bauclub's transformation of an upper-floor Brussels apartment for a family of illustrators and their daughter. The intervention is deliberately introverted, turning inward rather than announcing itself, and organising the entire spatial experience around a single vertical move: a staircase that opens a void in the rear facade to draw zenithal light down into a space that was previously dim. Horizontal, vertical, and oblique planes create a game of perspectives as you move through the apartment, each sequence revealing the interior and exterior context only gradually.

A quiet project that holds its logic close, then lets the light do the talking.

Warm plywood. A single red steel tube tracing the entire silhouette. Nothing hidden, nothing added without reason.

The Blend chair by is a study in how much a chair can say with how little it uses. The plywood shell follows the body in one restrained gesture, forming seat and backrest as a continuous surface with its layered edge left exposed as part of the visual language. The red steel frame draws the outline with a single confident line that is simultaneously the structure and the character of the object. Two materials in precise balance: the warmth of wood and the graphic presence of painted metal, each one making the other more visible.

A familiar typology seen from a new angle. Reduced to its essentials, never reduced in character.

Three metres of Nordic pine, resting on a steel frame so minimal the bench appears to float.

BRISKEBY is Andreas Engesvik's bench for Vestre, the longest in their range, built on a logic as old as the materials it uses. Wood and iron. Long planks laid across a solid but visually light frame, the proportions referencing log benches and the construction of Nordic timber buildings without reproducing them. The steel frame is made from Swedish steel with 30 percent lower greenhouse gas emissions than the world average. The pine planks are impregnated with linseed oil and, when they wear after years of use, can be replaced individually. The metal structure stays. The surface renews. A bench designed for infinity, as Engesvik puts it.

Available in Nordic pine or painted Accoya, with the frame in any of 200 RAL powder coat colours. A 15-year guarantee on wood. A lifetime guarantee against rust. A seat that earns both.

A home that holds stories.

In Warsaw’s Żoliborz district, this flat was shaped by memory, collecting, and quiet eccentricity. Each object, ceramic, graphic, record, book, has a past and a place. The space doesn’t follow rules, it follows feeling. Tiles echo old staircases. Cabinets hold time. The rooms aren’t sharply divided, just gently marked by texture and rhythm. Open, intentional.

Designed by Angelika Fedorczuk of .projekty , this is a space for looking closely. A place where details do more than decorate. They remember.

The angle of the beams is not decorative. It drains the rain, improves the comfort, and makes configurations of almost any length possible.

YPSILON by for is a bench built from angled solid glulam beams resting on laser-cut and bent galvanized steel, a base where nothing is welded. The steel is folded, the way paper is folded, and the result holds the timber without a single weld joint. Rybakken describes the contrast between the two materials, steel against glulam, solid against void, as one of the bench's most interesting qualities. A stripped-down design that is immediately recognisable, stable without appearing heavy, and comfortable through the logic of its own geometry.

Form-wise innovation with traditional materials. The bench proves how much that combination can still offer.

An abandoned park structure doesn't always need a drastic redesign to regain its place in the community.

For the Belvís Cultural Catalyst, Arrokabe Arquitectos transformed an underused pavilion in Santiago de Compostela through subtle, precise interventions. By opening the building to the surrounding park and inserting modular, flexible wooden elements, the space adapts seamlessly to community gatherings, workshops, and performance.

It proves that the most sustainable architectural solution is often quiet, adaptive, and deeply rooted in its environment.
