Two horrific acid attacks on women reported on June 6. The suspect was killed in a police encounter. In Ghotki, Sindh, a 17-year-old girl named Sharman was attacked by her cousin, sustaining critical burns to her face, eyes, chest, and arms. These incidents have sparked massive outrage, highlighting weak acid regulations, poor hospital security, and entrenched patriarchal mindsets. Urgent calls grow for stricter laws, survivor support, ban of acid sell and purchase and systemic change.
