For decades after Iran’s 1979 revolution, the beauty of Iranian actresses was kept out of sight under mandatory hijab. Laws that controlled not only their visibility, but also their freedom and professional paths.

Some of these women said no to enforced hijab. Some stepped away from acting. Others were erased from cinema altogether or are no longer among us.

This series imagines an alternative reality. One where, for the past 47 years, mandatory hijab never existed and international doors remained open to Iran.

What image could have emerged if these actresses had been allowed to exist fully. And how might they have looked as the faces of leading global fashion brands, seen, present, and unapologetically visible.

زیبایی هنرپیشه‌های زن پس از انقلاب ۵۷ ایران، برای دهه‌ها زیر حجاب اجباری پنهان ماند. قوانینی که حقوق بشر و مسیر حرفه‌ای آن‌ها را تحت کنترل گرفت.

برخی از این زنان به حجاب اجباری «نه» گفته‌اند، برخی در سال‌های بعد از حرفه‌ی بازیگری فاصله گرفته‌اند و برخی دیگر عملاً از سینما حذف شده‌اند یا دیگر در میان ما نیستند.
این مجموعه تصور می‌کند اگر در تمام این ۴۷ سال قانون حجاب اجباری وجود نداشت و درهای بین‌المللی به روی ایران باز بود، چه تصویری از این هنرپیشه‌ها می‌توانست شکل بگیرد.
و اگر آن‌ها می‌توانستند به‌عنوان چهره‌ی نماینده‌ی برندهای مطرح بین‌المللی در ایران حضور داشته باشند، این تصویر چگونه ساخته می‌شد.

از برندها و پاپ‌آپ‌ها تا سرآشپزها، فود بلاگرها، گل‌فروش‌ها، خوانندگان، کافه‌ها و هنرمندان، ایرانیان در سراسر جهان یلدا که با نام «چله» نیز شناخته می‌شود را جشن میگیرند؛ طولانی‌ترین شب سال و آیینی چندصدساله برای پاسداشت نور، هم‌دلی و پایداری.

یلدا ریشه در انقلاب زمستانی دارد. شبی که تا سپیده‌دم بیدار می‌مانیم، گرد غذا، شعر، موسیقی و یکدیگر جمع می‌شویم و بازگشت نور را خوشامد می‌گوییم.

“Second Homes: Iranians in Diaspora” continues with Part II of our story with .
This chapter moves from memory to movement: Farnoush walks through the streets of Paris wearing an iconic caftan once worn by , accompanied by the legendary singer’s own voice. In our research for this story, .Atelier in Tehran confirmed that the intricate embroidery on Googoosh’s caftan is based on a distinctly Iranian technique, suggesting that the piece was most likely made to measure for her in Iran.

Our conversation also turns again to , the emerging Iranian brand Farnoush continues to champion. Following their introduction in Part I, we join her as she brings Vahr into the spotlight at the event hosted by .Agency.

And a final note for our readers:

«خانه‌های دوم: ایرانیان در دیاسپورا» با فرنوش حمیدیان - بخش دوم.
در این قسمت، قصه از حرف به عمل میرسد. فرنوش در کفتان گوگوش و در خیابان‌های پاریس کت واک میگند. همان کافتانی که گوگوش در یکی از اجراهایش با همین قطعه موسیقی پوشیده بود و فرنوش هم اکنون با همان آهنگ راه می‌رود. در روند تهیه این مصاحبه، آتلیه دستینه در تهران تأیید کرد که سِرمه‌دوزی این کفتان بر پایه یک تکنیک کاملاً ایرانی انجام شده و همین موضوع نشان می‌دهد که لباس به احتمال زیاد به صورت اختصاصی برای گوگوش در ایران دوخته شده.

در ادامه، دوباره به می‌رسیم؛ برند جدیدی که فرنوش ازش حمایت میکند. پس از معرفی اولیه در بخش اول، این بار فرنوش کمربند وهر را در ایونت Afterhours به میزبانی تارا زاده میپوشد.

For Paris, unveils “Rose, c’est la vie!”, an immersive collaboration with .are.ONA that turns dining into design. Swathed in her bespoke floral print inspired by the rose of Ispahan, the space reinterprets Persian softness and sensuality through color and form. Conceived with .Pronzato and chef , the project transforms an old garage into a rose-scented cocoon, a celebration of beauty, conviviality, and the timeless allure of Persian heritage.

برای آرت بازل پاریس، ایندیا مهدوی از پروژه‌ی «رز، این است زندگی!» رونمایی کرده؛ همکاری‌ای مفهومی و تجربی با گروه We Are ONA که تجربه‌ی غذا خوردن را تبدیل به یک تجربه هنری میکنه. فضا با پارچه‌ی گل‌دار اختصاصی او، الهام‌گرفته از رز اصفهان، پوشیده شده و نرمی و لطافت ایرانی را از دل رنگ و فرم بازتفسیر می‌کنه. این پروژه با همکاری لوکا پرونزاتو و سرآشپز جسوس دورون شکل گرفته و یک گاراژ قدیمی پاریسی را به پیله‌ای آغشته به عطر رز تبدیل کرده؛ ستایشی از زیبایی، هم‌نشینی و جادوی جاودانه‌ی میراث ایرانی.
