💀 Metallic Hardcore
I first discovered Domain on the latest Contention album ⚔️, and it made me want to dig deeper into this band 🔍. With Life’s Cold Grasp, they confirm all expectations after a promising first EP 💥: a debut full-length that crushes from start to finish. 🔊🔥
What makes it even stronger? Incredible guest spots 🔥 that show Domain are already validated by the hardcore scene 👊: Scott Vogel (Terror) 🔥, Tom Sheehan (Indecision) ⚡, the late Mean Pete Kowalsky (Remembering Never / Ether Coven, RIP 💐) 💀, and Tyler Mullen (Scarab) 🪲. That lineup alone tells you this record matters. 🤯
💀 Track highlights:
• Victory in Slaughter / Life’s Cold Grasp – A seamless two-part opener. With Mean Pete on board, the first track becomes the ignition of a war tank 🪖, rolling straight into the title track with no pause — pure assault. 🔥⚡
• Spores of Industry – Chaotic and venomous, pushed even further by Tyler Mullen. 💥
• Noix et Boules – As a French listener 🇫🇷, the title (“Nuts and Balls”) is hard to ignore 😂. Couldn’t track down the lyrics, but musically it’s sharp and punishing. 💥
• Suffer to Believe – Hardcore royalty: Scott Vogel bringing the fire. 🔥
• Corrode – The dual vocals with Tom Sheehan are in perfect sync, brilliantly executed, and thunderous. ⚡
• No Escape / Crimson World – A devastating closer that leaves no doubt about Domain’s power. ☄️
🎛️ Production is raw but powerful : guitars sharp, drums crushing, vocals up front. Every breakdown lands with maximum impact. 💣
📝 Bottom line: Life’s Cold Grasp is 27 minutes ⏱️ of metallic hardcore with zero pauses or transitions. Domain keep your head underwater 💦 until the very end — their goal is clear: a technical knockout 🥊 you won’t get up from. 💀
