I’m so happy this chapter is over!!

I’ll openly admit that I was NOT a happy pregnant woman. With the fatigue, nausea, SI joint pain, insomnia, and just feeling uncomfortable all the time, I really didn’t enjoy being pregnant. There were moments where I genuinely thought, “I think one kid might be enough.”

For a while, I felt guilty admitting that because I know how lucky I am to have experienced two healthy pregnancies. It almost felt ungrateful to say I hated being pregnant. But one of the biggest things grief and therapy have taught me is that two things can be true at the same time. I can be incredibly grateful that my body gave me Riley and Harrison, and I can also say that pregnancy was really, really hard for me. One doesn’t take away from the other.

If you asked me to do it all over again to have these two, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second. I’d choose them every single time. But I’m also really happy to be closing this chapter. I loved becoming their mom, I just didn’t love being pregnant. And I think it’s okay to say that out loud. ✹

I hope Riley and Harrison know they were never standing in the way of my dreams. They were always part of them. And honestly, they and Michael Patrick Lane are the biggest dream I’ve ever had come true. đŸŽŹâœšđŸ«¶
