How do you finish a fantastic meal at ? Cognac works as a solid digestif. Don’t know what the brand was, but was smooth enough to warm the cheeks…well warm them more after the wine.

This one cost me twice. I knocked it flying so had to buy “en autre bière“. A couple of local beers. Good flavor, no after taste. Just right for a pseudo apéritif in Nice.

A glass of Merlot IGP Rhône at hits the spot nicely with their great quality and priced food. No messing around with overpriced vinos at US “steak houses”. Just good wine. Voila.

As can be seen by the queues at various bouillons around the city, people of all ages appreciate these no-nonsense establishments.

What do you do after a classic Parisian view of the Eiffel Tower from Pont d’Alma? Pop into a brasserie for an over priced Belgium beer 😀🍻 Can’t beat a Grimbergen beer to warm you up, but wasn’t too cold.

Busy city with the Christmas markets opening, so nice to find a space at a table. European restaurants do a great job maximizing space by adding on covered areas extending from the historical architecture.

Every country has their own eau de vie. In Hungary it’s Pálinka. Trying black cherry, apricot and strawberry. All smooth and packed with flavor and of course a wee kick. My drinking compatriots sipped so somebody had to finish them 😉washed down with a side of local lager.

In from the cold for a bit of sweet and bitter. Negroni with a slice of Dobostorta. Nicely done Negroni with Punt E Mes and delicate sponge and chocolate cake. You can’t help but be warm and happy in a traditional coffee house anywhere in Europe.

To infinity and beyond. Giving a wee can of Steffl a shot back at the hotel. Does the trick but just a tad “thin” on flavor after a hefty Belgium number.

Time to get some quality beer. Belgium bar/restaurant for mussels and back to the classics. No complaints with a draft Leffe Blonde. Cheers.
