Let this fact register when they ban you from using a hosepipe when you live next to a huge body of water that could be utilised and are building houses at a rapid rate….

“Historically, around 39 to 40 million tonnes” of “raw, untreated sewage is spilled into the tidal River Thames each year.” 30 to 40 MILLION TONS!

There you go…

However 🙄 they intercept “some” of it now so this volume has “dramatically decreased” due to the completion of London’s new "super sewer," the Thames Tideway Tunnel, which became operational in early 2025 and “apparently” gets treated at Beckton but volumes and what happens to it is vague, but that’s just sewage then you have chemical run off to add to that and trash that gets dumped into it etc etc… and that’s JUST THE THAMES!
