After almost 20 years of anticipating the collapse of the Western-centric system, the GEAB now feels it has a duty to continue to identify the crises in the making, but also to describe the emerging model. If anticipation is the history of the short- to medium-term future, this article is a sociology exercise of the medium- to long-term future.

For some time now, and particularly since the arrival of generative AI in the form of ChatGPT / DeepSeek, our team has been seeing the emergence of a global society in which we can distinguish a very specific caste system that we have decided to put forward for your consideration... read more

35,500 billion euros is the total amount of European savings. It’s also the level of US federal debt. In twenty years, that debt has gone from 5% to 123% of GDP, generating an interest burden of 881 billion dollars – or 100 million every hour!

Meanwhile, a tech bubble has masked the systemic cracks. Since 2010, the ‘Magnificent 7’ (Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Tesla, Nvidia) have accounted for 40% of the US stock market’s performance, with a stock growth of over 27,000%!

In 2024, the WHO estimated that 43% of adults worldwide were overweight, including 16% who were obese. In the United States, 23% of young people are obese. Obesity is rising sharply in sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia: +50% in 10 years[3].

In 2023, the global cost of care related to overweight and obesity is estimated at around 2,000 billion dollars per year. If current trends continue, this figure could rise to 4,320 billion dollars by 2035, or almost 3% of global GDP, an impact comparable to that of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.[4] That said, if we had to pay for GLP-1 treatments for the one billion obese people in the world today, according to the WHO[5], we would have to spend not 2,000 billion dollars but 105,000 billion dollars a year (11% of GDP), given current prices (more than 1,000 dollars a month...Ongoing

TREND At the intersection of medicine, technology and economics, GLP-1-based anti-obesity treatments are profoundly reconfiguring our relationship with the body. Behind the promise of a miracle solution lies a society that is literally becoming increasingly ‘disembodied’, guided by virtual stand...

Asia 2025: Pathways to geopolitical stability

Until now, it has been a question of preventing China from overtaking the United States in terms of technology. In 2025, not only will the West realise that China has already overtaken it, but above all that it is not China but the whole of Asia that has overtaken it: not just in terms of growth rate, production capacity or the application of new technologies, but also in terms of capacity for innovation and leadership.

English is disappearing from language learning in Asia in favour of Chinese[1]; in ASEAN, Japanese car factories are being replaced by Chinese factories[2], strategies to bypass the Chinese production force via the ASEAN countries (China+1) are simply weaving China’s commercial and diplomatic network, which ASEAN so badly needs in order to build the factories and supply the raw materials to meet demand. The Silk Roads are at work throughout Asia, generating development, income and all the connectivity that ASEAN needs[3],… in open source[4],… From now on, the more we force this region of the world to choose between China and us, the more we will lock them into a growing dependence on China....

🔍 Global Anorexia 2030: From Ozempic to the disincarnation of the human
The latest GEAB article explores a striking trend shaping our future: global anorexia — not just as a health issue, but as a deep indicator of civilizational transformation.

💉 From weight-loss drugs to transhumanism
🧠 From appetite loss to disconnection from the physical self
🌍 From overconsumption to disengagement from material life

Are we witnessing the gradual "disincarnation" of humanity?
This piece offers a bold, systemic lens on how global trends in medicine, AI, and culture might be converging toward a redefinition of what it means to be human.

🌐 The future of social media
Big Tech and opaque algorithms have shaped digital life for over a decade — but that paradigm may be shifting.

In its latest SIGNALS report, the GEAB (in partnership with l'Aube du Futur - AADF) identifies emerging signs of a new digital era: one where individual creators, independent curators, and the “commoners” begin to reclaim control over the platforms, data and revenue models of the Internet.
⚙️ DIY algorithms: Apps like SURF and Skylight let users curate their own feeds and control how content reaches them
🎶 Artist rebellion: SoundCloud and music giants are pushing back against AI misuse of their work
💡 Creator economy 2.0: Tools like Captiv8 and open-source models are redirecting value to smaller, independent voices.

Could we be entering an era of re-decentralisation — a new form of online empowerment?

SIGNALS Analyses of the techno-social landscape generally promise us a future increasingly influenced by the major technological powers, via their algorithms which today govern life online. This projection is based on the assumption of a linear and indefinite continuity in the evolution of the life....
