If there’s an opportunity to add personality or a bit of Heyday-ification to some content, you can be absolutely certain I’ll take it, run with it, and potentially go too far while having too much fun to care while throwing my head back laughing maniacally chucking caution to the wind.
I may also be doing the above while wearing a cape…who knows?!
Because people remember:
✨ the caption that made them laugh
✨ the email that sounded like an actual human wrote it (a rarity these days!)
✨ the out of office reply that reads like an evil genius wrote it
✨ the brand that actually made them feel something (even if that something is a bit of rage from time to time)
They do not remember every other perfectly polished paragraph about “quiet clarity and confidence” written like an AI robot has taken their keyboard (and brains) hostage.
Adding personality to your content doesn’t mean turning yourself into a performer overnight. It just means letting more of YOU sneak into your brand.
Your weird little jokes, your favourite pop culture references, the values, opinions ands the slightly unhinged unsubscribe message (which I absolutely stand by!)
That’s the stuff people adore and connect with.
