Thanks to everyone who visited over the weekend and all the volunteers. What a wonderful weekend with loads of medieval game playing, swords, charcoal making, stories, calligraphy and bookbinding and digging of course. And filming for BBC Alba. Exciting news about our early medieval path - more on that later in the week - I forgot to take photos we were so busy!

The National Trust for Scotland’s Archaeology Department will be excavating at Castle Fraser in Aberdeenshire from Monday 5th – Sunday 11th September.
The dig will be open to all volunteers and no experience is necessary.
