University of Aberdeen Interim Senior Governor Gary McRae explains restructuring plans as staff announce 10 days of strikes.

If approved, proposals would see the replacement of the university’s 12 schools with four faculties and mandated minimum student numbers requiring at least 20 or 25 students per staff member in academic courses (depending on the subject), 10+ students on all degree programmes, and minimum six students on PGT programmes.

What an believable night in the Kings Conference Centre.

Everyone from the Gaudie is truly touched at the incredible support received on the night. We packed out the hall with over 150 people!

We thank every single person that came along and showed your appreciation for the work The Gaudie does.

🖨️|📰 The Gaudie Editor-in-Chief Oliver and News Editor Fred visited the DC Thomson printing facility in Dundee. For the past 15 years, our student newspaper had been produced in the City of Discovery, and Head of Production Craig Bertie took us around to find out how The Gaudie goes from large reels of Norwegian paper to the final product, ready to distribute across campus.

🚨We'll be having our main meeting of the academic year on February 2nd, where everyone is welcome to attend and shape how 2026 will look for The Gaudie. You'll hear from myself and other committee members about all the important aspects of running the newspaper and how to get involved. Hope to see you all there!
