We have four acoustically treated, soundproofed, purpose built rehearsal rooms. All fully equipped with a PA system, drum kit, guitar amps and bass amp. Recording
Our purpose built digital recording studio provides affordable recording services for just about anything that makes a noise. Tuition
We provide tuition on the drums and guitar (bass, electric & acoustic). All tuition is one to one, with qualified tutors who boast a wealth of performance experience between them. Equipment Hire
We stock a range of backline equipment for hire including guitar and bass amps, combos, keyboards, drums and percussion. Fat Hippy Records
We also run an independent record label called fat hippy records out of the studio and release music from many of Aberdeen's most successful bands. We book and promote gigs all over the UK for the label have a great following for out local gigs at the Lemon Tree and here in the studio.

Aberdeen Music Week coming at you this week! Performances and workshops in Aberdeen all put on completely for FREE by a volunteer team who work completely for FREE to help make it all happen!

Drummers of Captain Toms! We love you all and work hard everyday to keep our kits in decent condition for you.

We’ve been letting the side down a little with the quality of our drum stools recently… so today we’re super happy to bring in 4 new Yamaha DS840 thrones and some new tom arms so we can keep giving you the best drumming experience possible!

AMW26 is thrilled to Announce Captain Toms as a Featured Artist for Day 3 of AMW26: Amplify Aberdeen Documentary - The Scene. The Story. The Sound.

Since opening Captain Toms Music Studio in 1997, Tom Simmonds has played a leading role in Aberdeen’s diverse and independent music scene.

From launching his own independent record label, Fat Hippy Records, in 2002, to promoting hundreds of events across Aberdeen and Scotland, Tom has spent decades creating opportunities for artists and bringing music to audiences.

He has also helped local artists take their music beyond Aberdeen, touring across Europe and as far as Los Angeles, while supporting them in reaching audiences around the world.
