Week 1 Recap – Running My Videography & Photography Business 🎥📸

Week one of my 52-week recap challenge, a behind-the-scenes look at what actually goes into running a videography & photography business. Filming, editing, meetings, admin, family life… this is the real work behind the content.

Monday
Editing day in the office, finished and delivered a client project, signed everything off, and sent invoices.

Tuesday
Daddy day 👶 Balancing business and family.

Wednesday
First busy one, filming for an agency across three properties, meetings with existing and new clients, and signing off video content.

Thursday
looking after my daughter while my partner rested.

Friday
Back to back shoots, headshots, event photography, drone work, and filming high-quality 4K content. Finished with admin and accounts.

Busy, productive, and a solid start to the year.
If you’re a business looking for video content, photography, or social media visuals, this is what goes on behind the scenes.

In 2024, I travelled to Italy with to document a Guinness World Record attempt.

The challenge?
Kayak 52km from the north of Lake Garda to the south.

But Lake Garda didn’t make it easy.

Severe weather.
Unsafe conditions.
And the attempt had to be stopped.

That setback didn’t end the story.

Bradley went away, trained harder than ever, and returned in 2025 — this time backed by an incredible support crew from .the.squid & .

Same lake.
Same 52km route.
But this time, everything came together.

While it’s Bradley’s Guinness World Record, he chose to share the achievement with the team who made it possible — because this one was built on teamwork, preparation, and trust on the water.

The full distance was completed.
The record was achieved.
And it proved that some wins are bigger than one person.

2025 Recap — First Year Full-Time 🎬✨

What a year. Going full-time for the first time has honestly been one of the most rewarding (and fun) adventures I’ve ever taken on. I’ve learned so much, grown a ton creatively, and none of it would’ve been possible without the incredible clients, creators, and people I’ve worked with along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who trusted me, collaborated with me, showed up on shoots, and supported me this year — this year wouldn’t have been anywhere near as memorable without you.

Some of my favourite moments:
• Heading to the UK Shooters Filmmakers Lab — such an inspiring experience
• Shooting the Halloween event, my first proper dive into more model-based content (loved every second) and meeting so many amazing people
• Travelling to Italy for the second time to film a Guinness World Record attempt with Bradley and this time the team smashed it. Being part of that was unreal.
• Capturing some insane MMA action for SFC, easily some of the most creative and fun clips I’ve shot.
• And of course, the supercar tours, massive thanks to Finn and Dan for helping out… chasing supercars never gets old 🏎️🔥

If there’s one big takeaway from this year: be happy, bring good vibes on set, stay positive with clients, and never underestimate the power of networking.

So excited to see what 2026 has in store. Let’s go 🚀

I’m not sharing these numbers to brag or compete with anyone.
I’m sharing them to be completely transparent about what my business brings in and what it spends each year.

I’m 33 (going on 34 very soon), and I started chasing my dream five years ago.
This year, I was finally able to quit my delivery job and pursue videography full-time.

Everything I earn comes from:
• Videography
• Photography
• Post-production & editing
• 2nd shooter
• Drone pilot

Looking back and evaluating the entire year financially has been huge for me, not just seeing what jobs came in, but also understanding the expenses that came with them.

That clarity is what helps me plan for 2026:
where I need to improve,
where I need to put more effort,
and how to run this business better moving forward.

And if this post helps even one person who’s thinking about going full-time, I hope it shows that it’s possible in anyway, shape, or form.

No overnight success.
Just consistency, learning, and showing up year after year.
