I have been a Mcfly fan for over 2 decades now and the first band I remember falling in love with was Busted so when it was announced in early 2025 that Mcfly and Busted were going on tour together in September and October my heart pretty much exploded with excitement. That excitement was short lived when I realised how much tickets were. Having my own Radio show I came up with the most logical plan of action to me. To put on my own tribute show deadicated to both bands.I was originally doing this for me but I decided to do it for other people who for some reason also can't go to the tour.
I am beyond excited to bring you the Mcmega Special. Going through some well-known songs from both Mcfly and Busted and maybe 1 or 2 songs that aren't so well known. I will be also sharing some personal stories and sharing music from their various support bands from over the years and also songs that they have covered.
The first hour (3-4pm) will be the Mcfly tribute and the second hour (4-5pm) will be the Busted tribute. I hope you like it.

I normally wait a week after a show to start planning the next one to give myself a bit of a break but I am just far too excited so I officially started the plan for the October show. today. I have been planning this show for about 4 months but now I get to properly plan it for real!! You will know soon!

Plans for show 15 on Tuesday 2nd September:
Doing an extra show during the summer tricked me into thinking I had more time to plan show number 15 than I actually did. Ahh well!
Canet's over a year now so I didn't think there would be that many firsts left for me to do but here we are, show 15 and the first double interview! First I will be chatting to Emma Thomas who is the General Manager of Seaton Delaval Hall about the North East Emerging Artist Award program and then just after 4pm I will be chatting to Joe Huffton from Novo Theatre about there upcoming project in Blyth. It took a bit of planning this show and I still need to do some last minute changes but I am very excited to do it. Also on this show I will finally tell you the secret plans for October which I have been planning for about 5 months.

Starting tomorrow (21st August) and running until Sunday (24th August) t's the Alnwick Town Festival and Lionheart Radio will have a stall from 10-4pm throughout the entire time. This will be near the Market Place in Alnwick. If you are interested in helping with the station or presenting you own show or you just want to meet them feel free to pop down and have a chat. I will also be helping on the Saturday from 12 so if you would like to chat about Canet I will be more than happy to do that. Hopefully I will see you then.

That was such a great show with Chris. I got completely lost in 90s nostalgia and it was great hearing some songs that were requested that I haven't heard for years! Thank you so much for listening and for Chris for agreeing to do this with me. Normal Canet programming resumes 2nd September but before then I have an announcement that I will tell you about tomorrow...:)
