Tonnerre 2 Zeus is Parc Astérix’s first and only wooden coaster! It opened back in 1997 as Tonnerre de Zeus and was often said to be amazing, however for the 2022 season it was retracked and reprofiled. The ride also received new trains from GravityKraft Corporation which caused the ride to become much rougher unfortunately!

It’s a great layout but rides horribly!

Carrying on from my other post of Alton Towers’ entrance, while in the Alton Towers Exhibition, I also found this photo of the Monorail under construction! 🏗️

It is so interesting to see these old photos of the park, especially “The World’s Greatest Monorail” that would open in August 1987!

Carrying on with the topic from yesterday, instead of bucket list parks though, what is your top bucket list coasters?

My top one is quite generic really, that being VelociCoaster at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure! This Intamin Multi Launch genuinely looks incredible and since riding Toutatis, I do think it’ll be even better than that! 🤩

Within Europe however, there are a few options as I genuinely can’t narrow it down to just one. Taron at Phantasialand, Zadra, Hyperion and even Abyssus at Energylandia, Kondaa at Walibi Belgium and Untamed at Walibi Holland just to name a few! 🎢

So what is your top bucket list coaster/coasters around the world? 👀

Riding Germany’s joint tallest coaster on the front row was a fantastic experience! 🎢

When I rode it, this was (and still is) the tallest coaster I have ever ridden on the front row at 73m (239.5ft). It may not be my favourite hyper coaster I’ve done but it’s still a great ride! 🤩

OzIris is such a good B&M Invert! I rode this for the first time at the beginning of this year and it immediately became my favourite B&M Invert I have ridden (this, Nemesis Reborn & Nemesis Inferno)!

It is so smooth, it is definitely intense and it’s also freezing cold in the 0°C temperature, I don’t think I can really fault the ride in anyway really! 🎢

What is one park you would love to visit one day that you haven’t got round to yet? 👀

Maybe it’s a park for a fully themed experience or maybe it’s park with some of the best rides around. I have a whole list of parks I’d like to go to someday just in Europe alone! (I’ve really not been to that many parks 😅)

Efteling is obviously near the top of my list but there are also parks like Phantasialand, Energylandia, Walibi Holland/Belgium and so many more!

So what is at the top of your bucket list for parks? 🎢

This time next week, I’ll hopefully be at Flamingo Land for my second ever visit!

Last time I visited, I found the park to be okay but this year, I’ve heard quite a lot of negative stuff about it so I’m not sure what to expect. I still haven’t ridden Hero as it was closed all day last time so I’m hoping it’ll be open this time. 💊

Have you visited Flamingo Land yet this year and if so, what are your thought on how it is? 🤔

I’ve been thinking about putting these on for ages put never actually got around doing it. At the very beginning of this year, I went to Parc Astérix for my first ever visit and I managed to film on-ride on every single coaster!

So I’m starting this with Goudurix, their oldest operating coaster. With is the same model of ride as Corkscrew at Alton Towers but with a far longer layout! While It genuinely looks awful to ride, due to the new vest restraints, it actually doesn’t ride too bad. I actually prefer this to Tonnerre 2 Zeus… 🫣

This POV is filmed from the front of the back car, this was my only ride I got on Goudurix. Have you ridden this ride and if so, what did you think of it? 👀🛡️
