Rest in peace, RJ Mitte. 🕊️🖤

Everyone here at Black Hangar Studios is deeply saddened by the passing of a true talent and trailblazer. While millions around the world knew and loved him for his unforgettable, career defining portrayal of Walter White Jr. in Breaking Bad, his impact reached far beyond the screen.

Living with cerebral palsy, RJ was a fierce, dedicated advocate for actors with disabilities, breaking down long standing barriers in the entertainment industry and championing authentic representation with unmatched grace and strength. His work both on and off screen inspired a generation of artists and fans alike.

Our thoughts, condolences, and deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. Thank you for the memories, RJ. You will be deeply missed.

Big screen spectacles are back, and Tom Cruise new film Digger has finally hit theaters!

It’s a fascinating change of pace to see Cruise step aside from pure blockbuster action to lean back into prestige cinematic acting evoking memories of his brilliant, dramatic masterclasses in films like Eyes Wide Shut and Magnolia. Reviews for Digger have certainly sparked a passionate debate with a mixed bag of praise and critiques, but rest assured, despite what some confused fans might think from the marketing, it is definitely not a Broadway musical just a bold auteur swing.

As a studio that was proud to be part of Mission: Impossible, we always celebrate when major filmmakers push creative boundaries. Digger is a striking reminder of the power of celluloid, having been shot entirely on large format VistaVision.

Looking to capture that iconic, ultra crisp look for your own next feature? Contact Black Hangar Studios, today. We are proud owners of an exclusive fleet of VistaVision cameras, including super rare sync sound versions built for elite productions. Let’s create something unforgettable!

Great filmmaking requires a global perspective and also a healthy respect for the roots of cinema.

Black Hangar Studios is a huge supporter of the Ferrania Film Festival and everything it represents. We share its passion for visual storytelling, the preservation of cinematic heritage and, above all, the incredible platform for analogue film.

We love Ferrania’s iconic P30 — part of the film heritage behind Fellini classics including La Dolce Vita and 8½ — and today’s P33. We are also extremely excited about the forthcoming 400 ASA black-and-white stock and the imminent return of FerraniaColor.

As the festival approaches, we look forward to sharing more about how our creative network is supporting this year’s event.

True cinematic innovation respects its roots while building the future.
