A review of grass cutting at the Welfare has been undertaken, with a positive outcome for the community. Northumberland County Council grasscutters have agreed to cut all areas at the Welfare except the orchard and the football pitches.

Julia Aston, director of Amble Development Trust said "A big thank you to NCC who've agreed to continue to cut the grass at the Welfare as a goodwill gesture to the Development Trust and to the Amble community."

About The Ambler

The Ambler is a community paper and hyperlocal site for the town of Amble, Northumberland UK. It is run by one worker and a dedicated team of volunteers. Our first edition hit the streets in January 2000 and we have produced six issues a year ever since.

Our purpose is to keep local people in touch with local events and groups, and to inform and encourage discussion on issues of interest to the community. We deliver a free newspaper to every house and business in Amble and a number to neighbouring communities.

We value your comments and encourage you to make your points politely. Please know that we keep to the guidelines set out by the New York Times! "A few things we won't tolerate on our page: personal attacks, obscenity, vulgarity, profanity (including expletives and letters followed by dashes) and commercial promotion without prior authorisation. While most comments will remain posted if they are on-topic and not abusive, moderating decisions are subjective. We will make them as carefully and consistently as we can."
