Today is our last day at Kelsick Grammar before Christmas, and what a brilliant December it’s been.

We’ve loved welcoming so many of you into the space - from co-workers and teams to workshop groups and familiar faces popping in for a brew.

Sam and the team have officially earned a well-deserved break and Kelsick Grammar will reopen on Monday 5th January, refreshed, recharged and ready for a new year of conversations, creativity and community.

When the Kendal Mountain Festival team came to us looking for a space to get together with their team - it felt fitting to welcome them to Kelsick Grammar's meeting rooms with views of the stunning Lake District Fells!

We welcomed Rosina and her brilliant team here - they wanted a space for the day to step away from their usual office routine and escape the steady stream of emails. Somewhere local, but that felt different. Somewhere with fresh views, fresh air and room to think.

Kelsick Grammar ticked all the boxes - the Lake District scenery, the buzz of Force Café and bright, modern rooms. They loved having space to move between group conversations, breakouts and quieter reflection, all without losing the relaxed atmosphere.

From the moment they booked, we looked after everything. From room setups, tech checks, AV support, catering, dietary needs - the lot. They told us it made the whole experience effortless, leaving them free to focus on their people and their goals.

And the best part? The day was a huge success. Everyone felt relaxed, well fed, open to new ideas and the team left energised and connected.

Their final words: “We’ll be back.”
And we’re already looking forward to it. 🥰🫶

Perimenopause doesn’t come with a handbook. But our upcoming event might just be the next best thing!

Join us at Kelsick Grammar for a supportive and friendly evening talking about - Surviving and Thriving through Perimenopause and Menopause. This will be a down-to-earth session designed to help you navigate this chapter of life with more knowledge and confidence.

You’ll hear from

Dr Cath Munro – a Kendal-based GP and Menopause Specialist with a real passion for women’s health. She leads a dedicated women’s health clinic, trains other professionals to better recognise and manage menopause, and is all about helping women advocate for themselves and their long-term wellbeing.

Lou Turner – founder of Evolve Somatics, a trauma-informed somatic teacher and coach. Lou blends intuitive movement, somatic breathwork, guided relaxation, strength and kettlebell training, mindfulness and psychoeducation. She’ll share the “recipe” that’s helped her through menopause - movement, strength, good nutrition, sleep, HRT, connection and calm.

Today we’d like to introduce you to the wonderful Abi!

She’s one of those people who quietly turn great ideas into action and is a “get it done” queen! Officially Abi's our Senior Project Manager but in reality she's so much more than that - our Culture Ambassador & Fun-Time Specialist probably sums it up best!

In practice she mobilises projects from concept to implementation, keeps teams aligned, and lifts the culture while she’s at it.

Abi is also a driving force behind Impact Aid, raising money for local causes and our annual kids’ holiday. When she’s not delivering, you’ll find her decking the common room for festivities, jumping into circuits in our on-site gym, writing the legendary end-of-year quiz, moonlighting as Casper the co-worker, mastering Co-pilot (and keeping a tactical eye on the biscuit tin.)

When we asked what she loves most about being here, she said
Turning bright ideas into real outcomes (and that buzz when a project lands).
The people 🫶 common room chats, gym circuits and that “all in” team energy.
Doing good together through Impact Aid.

👏👏👏

Meet our owner... Dave Wiliiams. And todays post is dedicated to this rather brilliant man.

This is our chance to make his cheeks go slightly rouge, with him being one of the most humble people you could meet. You may have seen Dave many time during your visit, and sometimes you'll hear his contagious laugh first!

But last week, something truly special happened. Dave was honoured at Carlisle Cathedral with an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Cumbria for his incredible contribution to leadership development and experiential learning. Here’s a little of what he shared with us about that moment:

“I’m both humbled and honoured to receive this award. I left Charlotte Mason College in 1977 with a teaching certificate, so this could be one of the longest degree courses in history!
Back in 1972, during a formative Outward Bound course, I was inspired by the words of Kurt Hahn: ‘We are all better than we know…’
I’ve been blessed to live a life of purpose and passion. Through Impact, I’ve spent 45 years helping people realise their potential - not just clients and delegates, but colleagues, families, community partners and friends.
I accept this award on behalf of everyone who has been part of Impact’s journey.
As we say at Impact: ‘It’s not what you know that matters, but what you do with what you know.’
Thank you for this greatly appreciated recognition.”

Impact ... our wonderful next-door neighbours here at the lovingly resorted Kelsick Grammar - have been shaped in no small part by Dave’s energy, vision, and heart. And we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate him today.

Looking to plan a team strategy day? We've got you covered!

One of the best things about being based in Ambleside is how easy it is to combine focused work with fresh air and a bit of Lake District magic.

Our team strategy days often look a little like this
- Morning meeting in one of our rooms with an inspiring view.

- Stockghyll Force – a short walk straight from the doorstep (especially beautiful after heavy rain)
- Loughrigg Fell – a bigger hike to get the blood pumping with spectacular views across the Lake District
- Ambleside to Rydal Hall – for a more gentle, low level walk (with another coffee and cake stop!)

Today we wanted to introduce you to the lovely Anthony.

Anthony, is out IT Support at Kelsick Grammar and one of the key people who keep our co-working spaces and meeting room tech running like clockwork. Working closely with Sam, Anthony helps with the meeting room tech setup and is on hand if co-workers need a hand with any IT.

When asked what he loves most about being part of Kelsick Grammar, Anthony didn’t hesitate: it’s all about the people!

💚 Meeting new faces and knowing he’s helped make someone’s day a little easier.
💚 Solving those pesky Wi-Fi gremlins or setting up the perfect workspace.
💚 Creating an environment where everyone can do their best work.

You’ll often find Anthony up on the Mezzanine - his favourite spot for focus (and, apparently, the beanbags are dangerously comfy!). Outside of work, he’s a big Dungeons & Dragons fan and partial to a good gaming session.
