🏆❤️ ANDOVER’S KIT BIRKS WINS PRIDE OF BRITAIN AWARD!

What an incredible moment for one of Andover’s own.

Kit Birks has revealed she has won a Pride of Britain award, following her extraordinary 5,000-mile journey across Europe raising awareness and more than **£100,000 for su***de prevention.

And Kit had absolutely NO idea it was coming! 🥹

Thinking she was simply filming some social media content with ITV, Kit was left in tears when some of her nearest and dearest suddenly appeared from behind a bush to surprise her with the news.

Her journey has taken her from Nordkapp in Norway to Gavdos in Greece, through ten countries, spending hundreds of days on the road – much of it alone.

But behind those thousands of miles is an even more powerful story.

Kit has spoken openly about her own darkest periods and has used her experiences to show others struggling with their mental health that there can be life, hope and some pretty extraordinary moments on the other side.

Speaking after her surprise, Kit said:

💬 “I hope this shows people who are struggling that life does indeed get good again and not only that, but it presents you with wonderful unimaginable moments that are definitely worth sticking around for.”

From Andover to the Pride of Britain Awards. ❤️

👏 A HUGE congratulations, Kit. What an achievement.

📸 PHOTO OF THE WEEK | STONEHENGE AT SUNSET 🌅

Welcome to a brand-new feature from Love Andover — Photo of the Week!

Each week, we’ll be showcasing a brilliant photograph captured by local photographers and members of our community.

And what a shot to kick things off with! 😍

This week’s photograph is “Stonehenge at Sunset”, captured by FTD_photo_graphy.

Taken from more than a mile away, Stonehenge sits beneath an incredible fiery evening sky. A series of different exposures were stacked together to capture both the intense glow of the setting sun and the ancient stones below.

The distance really gives the image a sense of scale — Stonehenge standing small but unmistakable beneath that huge Wiltshire sky. 🌅🪨

👏 A fantastic shot from FTD_photo_graphy and a great way to launch our new feature.

📷 Want to feature in a future Photo of the Week?

Send us your best photographs — landscapes, wildlife, local landmarks, dramatic skies, events or simply a brilliant moment you’ve captured.

📧 Email your photo, your name and a little bit about the image to [email protected]

You could be our next Photo of the Week!

❤️ Give this one a like if you think it deserves it!

This is on tomorrow. A brilliant event.

🍔💷 STICKERS, CLUES… AND £20 NOTES HIDDEN AROUND ANDOVER!

What started with a few ‘Burgers He Wrote’ stickers turned into a summer treasure hunt that had local kids and families heading out across Andover looking for hidden cash.

Local content creator Gary Osborne, AKA Burgers He Wrote, created ‘Find The Score’ – hiding money behind his famous stickers and releasing three clues to help youngsters track it down.

But it became about much more than winning £20. ❤️

Families searched together, children worked as teams and local people and businesses got behind the idea – with around £450 worth of cash and treats eventually put into the challenge.

Gary says he did it for one reason: the kids.

We’ve spoken to Gary about how a Father’s Day present sparked the whole idea, why he wanted to give local youngsters something positive to do during the holidays, and why ‘Find The Score’ could be returning very soon… 👀

👇 Read the full story on our website.

And tell us… did YOUR kids take part in Find The Score? Did they manage to find one? 💷🔎

📸 THROWBACK THURSDAY – ANDOVER

We’re heading back to Andover’s Upper High Street in the 1960s for this week’s look into the past.

👀 How much can you recognise?

Were you around when the High Street looked like this? Which shops or businesses can you remember? Did you work in any of them — or perhaps your family did?

And here’s the big question…

🤔 If you could bring ONE shop or business from 1960s Andover back today, which would it be?

Have a proper look at the photo, then tell us what you remember in the comments. 👇
