🌟 It’s Volunteers’ Week 2026 and we have A LOT to celebrate! 🌟
At Andover Musical Theatre Company, we are entirely powered by the incredible dedication of our volunteers, and this week we’ll be introducing you to just a few of our unsung heroes
Behind every show you see on stage, there are hundreds of hours of unseen work from the most passionate, generous people in our community. Our committee work tirelessly year-round planning, budgeting and keeping every show running smoothly. But they’re just the beginning…
Think about the smiling faces who greet you front of house, the volunteers running our fundraising raffle, selling programmes, our talented set builders who transform an empty stage into another world, the stage crew making the magic happen in the wings, and our children’s chaperones keeping our young performers safe and supported. Every single role matters. Every single person makes a difference.
This truly is community theatre in the fullest sense — a community effort, from first rehearsal to final bow.
And it’s about so much more than putting on a great show. Musical theatre brings people together. It tackles social isolation by giving people a real place to belong — friendships formed at AMTC last a lifetime. And if you’ve ever stood in a rehearsal room belting out a chorus with 50 other people, you’ll know exactly what we mean when we say singing is genuinely good for your mental health. Science agrees, and so do we!
Our mission is to make musical theatre accessible to everyone in Andover and the surrounding area — and none of that would be possible without you, our volunteers.
So from the bottom of our hearts — thank you to all our volunteers. You are the heartbeat of AMTC.
